Berlin (ND). Die Volkskammer der DDR fate auf ihrer 11. Tagung am
Donnerstag in Berlin Beschlsse zu wichtigen innen- und auenpolitischen Fragen.
Einmtig stimmten die Abgeordneten den Gesetzen zu den Vertrgen ber
Freudschaft und Zusammenarbeit zwischen der DDR und dem Sozialistischen
thiopien, der VDR Jemen, der VR Kampuchea und der Republik Kuba zu. Diese
Dokumente waren zwischen November 1979 und Mai 1980 whrend offizieller
Begegnungen von Partei- und Staatsdelegationen unter Leitung des Generalsekretrs
der ZK der SED und Vorsitzenden des Staatsrates der DDR, Erich Honecker mit
entsprechenden Delegationen dieser Staate signiert worden. Die Volkskammer
beschlo das Gesetz zum Schutz des Kulturgutes der DDR und weitere Gesetze.
Die Haushaltsrechnung fr 1979 wurde besttigt.

Thunder Bay cops charge Can Car line

Thunder Bay- City police charged a peaceful picket of ISO outside to
strikebound Hawker-Srddely Canada Car plant here August 20 arresting 11 and
injuring four.
Spokesman for the United Auto Workers local 1075 George Rousnik told the
Tribune the police charged the line without provocation, kicking and punching
the pickets and rossing several into police vans.
The workers responded by setting up a picket around city hall demanding an
investigation into the police action. The city intervened and the arrested were
released without baH.
The union had beefed up thr^icket lines that had been limited to 18 by an
injunction, to protest the carrying out of work by management personnel.
The 21 -week old strike by 1200 workers at this producer of railway cars had
been fought over wage. The workers were locked into low wages by the AntiInflatioivBoard and were limited to only a cost-of-living-allowance in their last
contract, which expired Dec. 30.

des demandeurs d'emploi s'est tabli 1 330 100, soit 73 500 supplmentaires.
Par rapport juin, la progression est de 2,6%, en douze mois, elle se chiffre
5,7%. Deux tudes confirment la responsabilit des patrons et du pouvoir qui les
soutienL L'Institut de la statistique montre que la dgradation de l'emploi rsulte
des licenciements massifs et de la stratgie de prcarisation de l'emploi mise en
uvre pour les chefs d'entreprise. Une tude du Crdit National souligne de son
ct la chute de l'investissement productif (-11% en six ans).

Most critics accept as true the Soviet statement that it is returning that number
