Therearethreeprimarystepsforyoutotake: 1:BasicConfiguration InthisstepyourPHPconfigurationischecked.Ifthereareanysettingsthatwillprevent TYPO3fromrunningcorrectlyyou'llgetwarningsanderrorswithadescriptionofthe problem. You'llhavetoenteradatabaseusername,passwordandhostname.Thenyoucanchooseto createanewdatabaseorselectanexistingone. Finallytheimageprocessingsettingsareenteredandverifiedandyoucanchoosetoletthe scriptupdatetheconfigurationwiththesuggestedsettings. 2:DatabaseAnalyser Inthisstepyoucaneitherinstallanewdatabaseorupdatethedatabasefromanyprevious TYPO3version. Youcanalsogetanoverviewofextra/missingfields/tablesinthedatabasecomparedtoa rawsqlfile. Thedatabaseisalsoverifiedagainstyourconfiguration($TCA)andyoucanevensee suggestionstoentriesin$TCAornewfieldsinthedatabase. 3:UpgradeWizard HereyouwillfindupdatemethodstakingcareofchangestotheTYPO3corewhicharenot backwardscompatible. Itisrecommendedtorunthiswizardaftereveryupdatetomakesureeverythingwillstill workflawlessly. 4:ImageProcessing Thisstepisavisualguidetoverifyyourconfigurationoftheimageprocessingsoftware. You'llbepresentedtoalistofimagesthatshouldallmatchinpairs.Ifsomeirregularity appears,you'llgetawarning.Thusyou'reabletotrackanerrorbeforeyou'lldiscoveriton yourwebsite. 5:AllConfiguration ThisgivesyouaccesstoanyoftheconfigurationoptionsintheTYPO3_CONF_VARSarray. Everyoptionisalsopresentedwithacommentexplainingwhatitdoes.

6:Cleanup Hereyoucancleanupthetemporaryfilesintypo3temp/folderandthetablesusedfor cachingofdatainyourdatabase.
