HELP!

FEEDBACK

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE – “Pay it forward!” If you can help with any of the requests below, please
take the time to do so. Your kind assistance will be appreciated and rewarded.

. QUICKBIRD-LIKE REFERENCES SOUGHT - Matthieu Molinier is searching for references/articles on

co-registration of aerial images with satellite very high resolution optical imagery (QuickBird-like), aiming
at cross-sensor change detection. Input images may or may not have the same ground resolution. A
basic Google search with queries like "aerial satellite co-registration" or "aerial VHR change detection" did
not prove too successful. Also Keith Price bibliography seemed to have only a few references. I would be
grateful if anybody had references to suggest on this topic. Matthieu Molinier, Research scientist, VTT

. NEPAL TREE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM HISTORY - Dev Raj Gauatm writes: “I need the information
regarding the Tree Improvement Programme in Nepal. So I request for your help to find out the
documents which gives me information regarding the History of Tree (Breeding) Improvement Program in
Nepal. Thank you very much in advance for your incredible support.”

. CALCULATING ABOVE-GROUND BIOMASS - Muhammad Sohail writes: “I have an assignment to

calculate the above ground biomass of dipterocarp species in a forest stand so as to calculate their
carbon stock before and after logging in the Sabah district of Malaysia. Could you please post this request
on the mailing list if someone has any idea how to do it?”

. GIS AND EDUCATION IN ENGLISH TEACHING - Saied Pirasteh, chair of GIT for Natural Disaster
Management, writes: “Am looking for information, papers, websites and reports on how we can work in
GIS environment for the development of the education and English teaching. The idea comes when we
understand there is a lack of education and English teaching in non native English language countries.
How to manage it? How could we improve it? How can GIS technology help us to monitor? How can GIS
help for the decision makers for future plans?”
