realize that the true form of sound is actually spherical in nature.

Sound in air is the transfer of periodic movements between adjacent colliding atoms or molecules. This sonic energy typically expands away from the site of the collisions as a spherical or bubble-shaped emanation, the surface of which is in a state of radial oscillation. The sonic bubble expands and contracts with the same periodicities as the initiating sound source. When it is graphically represented as the mathematical law of sinusoidal energy, typically given as amplitude in the vertical axis versus time in the horizontal, indeed it looks like a wave. While this is correct in terms of graphical depiction, it is not how the energy actually moves through space. Sound in air does not travel as longitudinal waves as is commonly described in physics text books. Sound spreads spherically in air due to diffraction, the reactive result of atomic collisions. Reciprocal effects in air occur in the jostling of molecules initiated by a sound event, causing components of the sonic energy to move in all directions almost simultaneously. The distribution of energy within the sonic bubble is always concentrated on axis with the direction of primary propagation from the sound source.

Cymatics: the Science of Sound Made Visible

Sound is an invisible force that permeates every aspect of our lives. The sounds of Nature tend to flow

over and around us like soothing waters: lifting our spirit, inspiring us and exciting us. If we could see sound, our world would be even more beautiful than we could imagine. It would be a world filled with shimmering holographic bubbles, each displaying a kaleidoscopic pattern on its surface.

The Cyma Scope allows us to image a circular section through a holographic sound bubble. The Cyma Scope, like the invention of the microscope and telescope, opens a realm not previously suspected to exist; a whole new world of visible sound.
It is based on the principle that when sound encounters a membrane such as your skin or the surface of water, it imprints an invisible geometric structures of energy.

In other words, the periodic vibrations in the sound sample are converted and become periodic water ripples, creating beautiful geometric patterns that reveal the once hidden realm of sound.

Sound lies at the heart of every aspect of Nature, underpinning all of Creation. Cymatics will, in the future, enable humanity to understand far more about the Universe and our world than was possible with previous technologies. The CymaScope and the science of cymatics provide a bridge that will lead to significant advancements in knowledge.

Experimental Studies
A school student who was 13 years of age was randomly picked after a presentation on Human Reproductive System and Related Issues by Grassrooted Trust at St. Thomas College, Mount Lavinia and he was asked to express his ideas about sexuality, current situation and trends in Sri Lanka and changes that need to occur and then the audio was recorded.
A simple device was built with a balloon and a plastic container of which the bottom was removed, then it was placed on top of a speaker with the speakers pointing up into the shell of the device and then a small amount of wheat flour was set on the balloon surface. As the recorded audio was played, the sound waves released from the speaker caused vibration of the balloon surface thus the wheat flour layer was displaced continuously throughout the audio accordingly. Then photos were taken by intervals of 30 seconds.

Voice is a holographic representation of all that you are and contains all aspects of your energetic field. Thus it can be concluded that the visual shapes which were created from the device illustrated the feelings of the student.

CHANGING THE WAY PEOPLE THINK

SIDNEY NOLAN

The ability of art to change the world is somewhat of a utopian dream that has rarely occurred.
While the likes of Marcel Ducamp, Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol changed the art world, it is unlikely they had much influence outside of it. Likewise, political artists like John Heartfield who bitterly opposed Hitler prior to World War 2 had little impact on changing views. Australian artist Sidney Nolan was one artist who have had more success on changed wider society. The most important of Nolan's paintings are those based on the story of Australia's bushranger, Ned Kelly.

Nolan redefined the story of Kelly as a hero who resisted tyranny with a passion for freedom and created a need for an Australian identity or Australian vernacular by changing perception of Australians who identified closely with Britain.

the viewer who approached Kellys memory with a hostile attitude.

Surrounding the Kelly armour, and sometimes on it, Nolan used

the colours and imagery of the

Australian landscape. This

had a way of creating a sense that Ned Kelly was an Australian legend.

Ambiguity is one of the

characteristics that most differentiated Nolan from other political artists. Specifically, political artists generally just assert an opinion in visual form. Those who agree with the opinion applaud and think it is great. Those who disagree just move on. No persuasion occurs. The viewers think the same after seeing the artwork as what they did before seeing the artwork.

Nolan was different because, by deliberately remaining ambiguous, the viewers had to think about what he might be saying.

To change peoples perception, first of all their moods and emotions shall be changed (ie. from serious and rigid mood to calm and relaxed mood) Then instead of providing facts, people shall

be made to think and argue what the reality is.

Other than that, a stimulus can be

associated with an arbitrary idea or object that we naturally prefer, to elicit

a response, usually emotional. this causes the viewer to be more likely engaged with the idea.

Further withholding sex as punishment or using it as leverage for manipulating your partner in some way. Basically modern couples are bound by struggles for possession and power over the other. All of that usually leads to diminished sexual connection over time.

When the couple treat each other as equal human beings within the daily relationship and they're transparent about their inner life and emotions, they automatically feel more stimulation and excitement with each other. When they feel connected as equals and yet engage each other as separate, distinct individuals as well, that generates new energy and it enhances the sexual energy between the two.
Striving for the Making Love type of sexual partnership keeps your relationship alive and growing. Couples who build such a relationship feel enduring connection and sustained passion. Their relationship becomes resilient through all of the changes and challenges that people face along the path of life and it becomes a portal into continues spiritual evolution, individually and as a couple.

QUESTIONNAIRES
PEOPLES PERCEPTION ABOUT SEX

The follwing answers were given by a 23 year old female from IF SEX WERE ILLEGAL, WOULD YOU RISK IT? Kandy who is married now. yes i would because think about it. illegal adds a sense of excitement to it. now a days people use drugs. what's the main reason for this? its coz its illegal. the more taboo something is WHY WOULD YOU DO IT? because I was off age and had feelings and with the right person I the more people want to experience it. wanted to do it. WHAT WERE YOU INTENTIONS? DID YOU DO IT BECAUSE YOU WANTED TO GET IT OVER WITH OR WAS IT LOVE? it was for pleasure at first. but later on i did it for love. this is because at first it felt like sex was taboo and exciting where everyone wanted to do it just to feel accepted or to feel like someone, so i felt that need too. and then it was addictive and very pleasurable like a drug. but later on with much realization and maturity (interaction with different people, partners, books and also different and difficult life experiences) my perception changed. sex is something more than just a shallow way for people to feel "COOL". sex became something two people would do out of love. to feel love in a different level. to have a connection with the person i love. to feel loved. sex is a spiritual act between a man and a woman. WERE YOU SCARED OR SHY? shy WHAT WENT THROUGH YOUR HEAD WHEN IT WAS HAPPENING? like all my emotions gathered at one point in my brain which was causing a huge response. all emotions at once gave way with pleasure and pain hand in hand. WHAT WERE YOUR INTENTIONS TOWARDS YOUR PARTNER? to be of service. to make him feel good which in turn to make me feel wonderful. to fill my partner with pleasure and erotic joy. DID YOU USE CONDOMS? yes. but without condoms it's a completely different experience where you feel the warmth of the partner inside you. it's when the two of us become one. it's a direct connection. STYLE/ POSITION? all sorts. you name it. DID IT HURT AS MUCH AS YOU THOUGHT IT WOULD BE? yes but it was pleasurable. like i wanted more of the pain. ARE YOU EXPERIMENTAL? very DO YOU LIKE TO SPICE THINGS UP? yes sometimes. depends on different moods HOW BIG OF A MOMENT WAS IT? it was one of the biggest coz i had never felt a moment of my life where all my emotions screamed as one voice. HOW DID YOU FEEL AFTER? happy. satisfied. DID YOUR BOND GET STRONGER OR WEAKER? stronger DO YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU SHOULD BE IN LOVE WITH A GUY TO HAVE SEX? yes you need to be in love

People talk about things that they think they know about but in any given subject, we all have a limit to how deep we are aware about it. For every facet of life we are deeply immersed in, there is another that we contact more shallowly and some not at all. We often find trouble with lack of humility and it blinds us from recognizing what we do not know. As a result, we begin to think that we know things when in actuality we do not. IGNORANCE OR MISCONCEPTION is about scope and the quality of the thoughts we have which come from the reality we have sensed. Ignorance is caused by not knowing, making assumptions, poorly thought out ideas and being narrow minded. Some people are very stubborn about their BELIEFS and the weakness is not in their intelligence or in the quality of their thought, they have little biological and spiritual resilience and sometimes, knowingly or unknowingly, we do choose what we remain ignorant about due to cognitive screening and reflection. Another issue is that sometimes we don't critically assess the sources from which we hear various pieces of information or we don't actually pay ATTENTION. The information that we are gather every day has a great impact on the way we see the world and others around us. Thus, it is vital to fully understand the validity of information we come across.

TRANSPARENCY is very important. Sometimes we are not given all the information we need to know in order to assess something, hence we tend to make assumptions and try to come to a conclusion which can be incorrect. Apparently, most of the things we see are not what they seem from the outside. Sometimes we are to bound to DECEPTIVE ILLUSIONS in which we live forever because we fail to assess what it really means. But as you grow old, with maturity and INTERACTIONS with different people with different ideas and different situations of life, most of the people tend to critically think about what they see and its real meaning.

Laying reclaimed wood and fine wood closely to each other would

make people people question themselves about infinite meanings of the term NEW.

When this fabric is seen from a distance it seems like a plain blue fabtric since the small white squares are over powered by the blue ones, but ones you get closer you realize that it is not

blue, but it is an elegant design.

Shot Effect Fabric

Shot fabrics are fashionable textile materials woven with warp threads of one color and weft threads of another, so that the fabric changes hue when viewed from different angles.
The visual property of the shot fabrics is dened as a cangiante effect, i.e., a slight shift of viewing positions can result in signicant color changes. Thus shot fabrics are among the more extreme examples of anisotropically scattering surfaces. The warp and the weft threads are made of silk or modern articial bright bers, which are particularly effective in producing intense and lustrous effects. Not only the hue and chroma of the dyed yarns but also the transparency and the luster of the yarns contribute signicantly to the nal effect. There are a number of natural phenomena that have been compared with shot fabrics, e.g., a doves neck and a mallards neck, a peacocks tail, and wings of certain butteries and insects.

TRANSLUCENCY AND SUB-SURFACE SCATTERING

The amount of light passing through the object decides how clearly the object can be seen from the opposite side.

The transparency of the things and information we get changes our perception as it either makes us assume what it really is or makes us curious and want to know what it really is.

Translucent Concrete
LiTraCon, short for light transmitting concrete, is an innovative new combination of optical fibers and light concrete. The resulting concrete is just as strong as conventional concrete, but it transmits light like glass. The optical fibers are small enough that they arent visible in the finished product; the surface of the concrete is homogenous while the structure remains sturdy.

This see-through development is changing the perception of concretes opaque mass. When you see from the distance this seems as a wall, but as you come near you see it acts as a translucent panel.
When used as part of an external wall or placed in front of a window, these concrete panels need no light source other than the natural daylight that is diffused through the solid surface. If the concrete is mounted internally in the shape of wall, floor or ceiling panels, artificial light sources can be used to create special effects. MISPERCEPTION AND FORCED PERCEPTION OF SPECULAR SURFACE REFLECTANCE

The perception of amount and spectral content of the light reflected by surfaces depend on the structure of the light field and the observers viewing position. Different illumination fields and different viewing positions can generate qualitatively different patterns of interaction between perceived gloss and 3D surface geometry, thus the viewer can be made to perceive what we want by arranging objects and light fields accordingly as well.

Terracotta with a Venetian Glass Inlay

The Sophie collection consists of handmade tiles made of terracotta with a venetian glass inlay. A patented finish allows the terracotta to appear distressed and worn, while the glazing or marble emerges in relief. The effect is a

three-dimensional surface with a contrasting appearance of aged, polished stone and fresh, reflecting glass.

Each tile is slightly different in appearance and all are supplied in large panels with any required number of tiles precast. Panels do not interlock; the panel is provided pre grouted and sealed and is therefore ready to seal. Combinations in design and colour of the glass are available. There is a choice of four handmade Tuscan terracotta shades and a limitless number of designs as well as 24 different Murano glass colours. The tiles are for indoor application and can be used in dry or wet conditions. The handcrafted process means some cracking, irregular colouration and a non homogenous spread of material can occur.

INTERACTION

Interactive Wall Installation

Production Company: HUSH Art & Technology Director: Flightphase

The concept is a field of cubes which animate in various ways and when someone is present in front of them, come together to form screens with videos. The cube is used as the basic element for revealing the videos and different visual designs are explored to make the

cubes more than just cubes. One face is rendered with the background colour while others are rendered with different colours.

Altogether the entire field of cubes, with how they overlap and with the negative space shapes

formed between the cubes, has a potential to create a variety of looks and patterns that could be perceived as flat 2d imagery or as 3d objects.

The interaction is very intuitive: simply, a persons presence elicits the response of the system, not requiring an intentional interaction. The gestural interactions are designed by 4 of the Kinects embedded in the ceiling in front of the wall. The contour of the person seen by the overhead cameras is mapped onto the field of cubes.

The cubes falling within the person contour and the video region fade in their video tile as they scale, rotate and move to congeal with other cubes forming the video.

MASTERS AND JOHNSON

William Masters, obstetrician and gynaecologist and Virginia Johnson, a psychologist and sex therapist, were an American research team noted for their studies of human sexuality. Their book Human Sexual Response as considered by many to be the first comprehensive study of the physiology and anatomy of human sexual activity under laboratory conditions. Biochemical equipment such as electrocardiographs and electroencephalographs was used in recording sexual stimulations and reactions.

Human Sexual Response Cycle

Though written in arcane language, the book was a best-seller and helped change peoples attitudes toward sex. Their research helped to expose myths concerning male and female sexual performance, to redefine society's definition of "normal" sexual behaviour, to change both male and female expectations for sexual performance and sexual satisfaction, to encourage development of the sex therapy profession and to coin much of the descriptive language used in modern discussions of sex behaviour and sexual response.

Masters and Johnsons four phases of the human sexual response (a) Male sexual response (b) Female sexual response

The human sexual response cycle is a four stage model of physiological responses during sexual stimulation. These phases, in order of their occurrence, are the excitement phase, plateau phase, orgasmic phase, and resolution phase. Excitement phase The excitement phase occurs as the result of any erotic physical or mental stimulation, such as kissing, petting, or viewing erotic images, that lead to sexual arousal. During the excitement stage, the body prepares

for sexual intercourse, initially leading to the plateau phase. Plateau phase The plateau phase is characterised by an increased circulation and heart rate in both sexes, increased sexual pleasure with increased stimulation, and further increased muscle tension. Also, respiration continues at an elevated level.

Orgasmic phase Orgasm is accompanied by quick cycles of muscle contraction in the lower pelvic muscles, which surround both the anus and the primary sexual organs. Women also experience uterine and vaginal contractions. Orgasms are often associated with other involuntary actions, including vocalizations and muscular spasms in other areas of the body and a generally euphoric sensation. Heart rate is increased even further. Resolution phase The resolution phase occurs after orgasm and allows the muscles to relax, blood pressure to drop and the body to slow down from its excited state. The refractory period, which is part of the resolution phase, is the time frame in which men and women are unable to orgasm again.
