Information to Authors

Authors are invited to submit original research articles within the broad scope of the Journal. Please use the following guidelines. SUBMISSION Please submit an electronic copy of your paper to the Editor-in Chief in WORD as well PDF. There is no need to mail a hard copy by normal postal mail. If needed, you will be requested for a hard copy. Manuscripts, written in English, should be double-spaced with one-inch margin on all four sides. The manuscript should be formatted to make it suitable for double-blind refereeing. A brief abstract (maximum 100 words) should be included at the beginning of the manuscript, followed by (maximum six) keywords. Keywords will be used for indexing and identifying suitable reviewers. Footnotes should not be used unless absolutely necessary. It is assumed that each submitted manuscript is original and has neither been published nor is being simultaneously considered by another Journal. The authors are required to seek written approvals from original authors if any copyrighted materials are used. Submission of a manuscript automatically implies that no copyrights have been violated. Upon acceptance of the manuscript, all rights would be transferred to INFOMS. The articles should preferably be limited to 20 pages in length. Articles longer than 40 pages will not be considered. The Journal will strive to provide a prompt turnaround time. To expedite review process, authors are encouraged to suggest (maximum five) names of potential reviewers. Enclose their names, postal addresses, phone and fax numbers, and e-mails. The editors are, however, under no obligation to seek opinions from suggested reviewers. References should be numbered and written in alphabetical order of the last name (surname) of the first author. Works of the same author should be arranged in the increasing order of the publication date. All references should quote the complete titles of Journals and books. In the text, references should be cited by the reference number placed within square brackets. Illustrations: Dhar, S. and M. REFEREEING PROCESS The Editor in Chief will make an initial determination of the suitability of the manuscript. Papers, which lack clarity in presentation, do not demonstrate contribution to knowledge, or are clearly outside the scope of the Journal, will not be sent for review.

The Editor in Chief will send the manuscript to at least two competent reviewers. Based on the review reports, the Editor in Chief will either determine whether the manuscript should be accepted, rejected, or revised; or will consult further with additional reviewers. The Editor in Chief reserves the right to make the final decision on any submission.

REVISION PROCESS For manuscripts in need of revision, authors will be requested to revise their manuscript and resubmit the revised version within three months. Revision submitted after three months will be treated as new submission. The authors should clearly illustrate their responses to the reviewers comments. An electronic copy of the revised manuscript (in WORD and PDF) should be submitted to the Editor in Chief. AFTER ACCEPTANCE After a manuscript has been accepted, the authors will be required to format the paper using the following guidelines: Names and affiliations of all authors should be listed immediately after the title of the article. An abstract (maximum 100 words) and a list of keywords (maximum six) should be included. Authors will also be requested to provide the text of the final paper on WORD and PDF. The entire text, including tables and figures, must be in black font. No other colors should be used. Brief biographies (100 words maximum) of each author should be provided in a separate document. Galley proofs will be sent to the submitting author. Corrections should be made within one week. Major modifications cannot be made at this stage. Authors will be charged for extensive corrections in the proof stage. To defray printing costs, authors are required to pay a nominal charge of $15 per printed Journal page. Under exceptional circumstances, this charge can be reduced or waived. All correspondence should be addressed to the Editor in Chief : Dr. Omprakash K.
