    A Meritorious Service Cross is quite a honour to receive and Col Blais should be proud to receive it. There are other honours and awards in the CAF that recognize individual efforts - people post-in to the JPSU are no exception. In the final months of my tenure as Regional Sergeant Major, there were a great many nominations sent to the CO for various honours and awards. Unfortunately they were all misplaced and not processed, leaving these deserving injured and ill men and women without the recognition they deserve. Other nominations, such as this one, were successful.

    MERITORIOUS SERVICE DECORATIONS (MILITARY DIVISION) Meritorious Service Cross (Military Division)

    Colonel Grard Joseph Blais, O.M.M., M.S.M., C.D. Ottawa, Ontario As director of Casualty Support Management, beginning in November 2008, Colonel Blais was responsible for setting up integrated personnel support centres and operational stress injury support programs in Canada. He demonstrated the highest degree of leadership, initiative, determination and vision, ensuring the provision of ongoing and high-quality support to the members of the Canadian Forces and their families. Colonel Blais extraordinary commitment and dedication helped to achieve the success of these projects.
