For the 2013 anthology in the Las Vegas Writes projectthe fifth in a series of annual books showcasing the citys literary talentseditor Scott Dickensheets has rounded up a stellar cast of contributors to provide original essays and short fiction on the theme of progress. Progress, whether its civic, political, social, spiritual, personal or physical, is an especially relevant topic in Las Vegas. Among the contributors who will talk about their work and experience creating this years project are novelist and memoirist Kris Saknussemm, literary authors Douglas Unger and Aurora Brackett, horror writer Rena Mason, well-known journalists Geoff Carter, John Katsilometes and Henry Brean, and writers Abigail Goldman and Sarah Jane Woodall. The book will be published by Huntington Press to coincide with the Vegas Valley Book Festival.
