Order Picking and Packaging Warehouse Awards Integrated Systems Design - ISD Mat erial Handling System Project

The material handling project awarded to Integrated Systems Design will focus on providing space savings, increased productivity, higher accuracy and system fle xibility. Utilizing proven technology and off the shelf components will help pro vide a cost effective solution for Repair Clinic with minimum maintenance and yi elding fast Return on Investments (ROI). Wixom, MI, October 22, 2013 -- Repair Clinic of Canton, MI has just awarded Inte grated Systems Repair Clinic Design - ISD of Wixom, MI the contract to improve t he order picking and packaging areas in their warehouse. This was done to meet p rojected sales growth and eliminate the need to expand or move within the next f ive years. Repair Clinic is North Americas trusted online store for replacement parts and fr ee DIY repair help for major household appliances, outdoor power equipment, heat ing & cooling equipment, water heaters and vacuum cleaners. Repair Clinic has on e million parts for 160 brands in stock. The driving factors for this phase of warehouse modernization are to eliminate t he need to move or expand the building and to improve productivity and throughpu t to meet increasing sales with the current level or less resources. This award includes the profiling and modeling of Repair Clinics inventory, expan ding order picking by moving slow movers into vertical lift modules (VLMs), incr easing the number of efficiently designed packaging stations and moving them to a mezzanine. The new system will save more than 40% of their floor space. This system will be up and running by the first quarter of 2014. We have a long a productive history with ISD. Because of our past success using I SD to help us economically meet our distribution objectives, we didnt even have o ther companies bid on this significant project, said Larry Beach, CEO of Repair C linic. A few years ago, Integrated Systems Design had been awarded the first phase of t his project which focused on improving the packaging area throughput and labor. The implemented system not only improved throughput, but it reduced labor from 1 5 people to five.
