An amazing trip!
Hi! My name is James. Let me tell you about an amazing trip I went on. Last year my
whole family and I went to this beautiful place: Thailand. I loved Thailand.
This trip was perfect because we had the chance to visit a very famous beach called
Maya Bay. A lot of people know it because of the movie The Beach, which stars
Leonardo DiCaprio. It's great, you should watch it! I'm sure you will love it.
My family loved Maya Bay, too. My parents thought it was very romantic and my
grandparents considered it a nice place to relax but on the days that were very hot
they stayed in the hotel.
I was always in the water with my uncle. He swims very well. He taught me how to
swim better.

Past simple: affirmative

Usamos o past simple para nos referirmos a situaes iniciadas e terminadas no
passado.
Regra geral, acrescenta-se -ed forma base do verbo.
Ex: He started the party. (verb to start)
Quando o verbo termina em -y, precedido de consoante, tiramos o -y e acrescentamos -ied.
Ex: He studied English. (verb to study)
Quando o verbo termina em -y, precedido de vogal, s acrescentamos -d.
Ex: He played with the toy. (verb to play)
Quando o verbo termina em -e, s acrescentamos -d.
Ex: He lived in Oxford. (verb to live)
A verbos curtos a terminar numa vogal + uma consoante dobramos a consoante e
acrescentamos -ed.

Past simple: negative

Fazemos a negativa do past simple juntando didn't (did not) ao infinitivo do verbo.

Ex: I didn't play.

Formamos a negativa do past simple dos verbos regulares e irregulares do mesmo modo.
Ex: They watched TV. They didn't watch TV. (verbos regulares)
