San Diego State University Provisional Chapter

Fall 2013 Volume II. Issue II. Gentlemen,
I hope life is treating you all well. It is exciting to welcome our new members into The Order. We are all looking forward for the new memories, the traditions, and most importantly the brotherhood bonds that we create. In this issue, we will briefly talk about the new men that have accepted our bid into the greatest brotherhood of all time. You will also see our upcoming events such as our Alumni tailgate and future socials. We have also been involved with activities that complete the accreditation of our fraternity, thus bringing us closer to becoming officially chartered. As we continue to strengthen our bond as brothers, we are also learning more about KA traditions through the Varlet. With every great endeavor, we seek wisdom and knowledge through our alumni. We are blessed with having a former KA, Brother Bryan Lubic, as our staff advisor. He has gone above and beyond the call of duty and the values of KA instilled in him have helped us tremendously as we become closer to becoming an official chapter at SDSU. If you would like to help with the development of our chapter, please feel contact us through email. We would like to get ideas from our alumni and hear your input. Mentioned in our last newsletter, if you or any other KA that is an alumnus from the Gamma Iota chapter that has changed their address or contact information, please contact me through email (sdsu.ka.num.5@gmail.com) as soon as possible so that we can update our alumni list. Also, if you have sons, nephews, or other potential young men that have in them KA values, do not hesitate to send us their contact information! President's Message
The semester started off strong, and now we are all excited to finish the requirements to chartering. We have been focusing on development of leadership within all of our members. We are looking forward to a variety of events in the upcoming future! -Jesse Berg, Number I

Induction Fall 2013

On October 4th we officially inducted 11 of our new members:

Laser Tag with the men of Phi Detla Theta

We were invited by the men of Phi Delta Theta to engage in a friendly game of laser tag at their house. It was a great opportunity and we are looking forward to doing this again!

Leadership on Campus Homecoming 2013

All alumni and guests are cordially invited to attend our homecoming tailgate at Qualcomm stadium on Saturday Oct. 26th, 2013! We are playing against the Fresno State Bulldogs. Time is still to be determined. We will be tailgating in section D. As we become situation, our gentlemen are finding new ways to stay involved and represent KA in other organizations and clubs. Brother Highlight
Jacob Handler is head of our t-shirt committee and has done numerous things to help contribute to the development of our chapter. He has made shirts, found sponsorships, and was a major factor in getting a burrito and pita in our name at our local restaurants. On top of that he is also a Resident advisor in our Zura residence hall. He is a very proactive member in our chapter and is an emerging leader in society.

KA In the Community
We are currently getting in contact and planning a philanthropy event with the local MDA office here in San Diego. More details will be made available.

Chapter Progress
We have newly elected new member Garret Wilson to become chairperson of our accreditation committee. He oversees and makes sure that our chapter completes all the requirements needed in order to be recognized by the school.
