“I have not create the jinn and humankind for any other purpose
except they should worship Me.” -51: 56-

1. Meaning of 'ibadah

The word 'ibadah is derived from 'Abd (servant and slave).

Therefore, the meaning of 'ibadah is servitude and slavery.
 The duty of a slave:
(i) to regard his master as his lord - to seek His plesure and showing our need.
(ii) to be always obidient to his master – to show our gratitude to Him every second.
(iii) to respect and revere his master – to give and render to Allah the right respect and
estimation that He deserves.

3. Results of misunderstanding of 'ibadah.

 The wrong 'ibadah:

1) You are offering nawafil after nawafil, chants the name of God and recite the
Quran in a melodies tone, but you don't listen to the God's commands.
2) You are busy day and night discharging duties entrusted to you by other people,
but in same time, you act on the orders of unbelievers and polytheist, and never
care for the commandments of God in the affairs of your life.
3) You respect, revere and obey God all the time, but on the other side, you render
service to the rebels and enemies of your master, participates in the conspiracies
and co-operates with them in their efforts to efface his name from the world.
The real 'ibadah of God is to follow the law of God and lead a life according to His
commandmentsfrom the periodof puberty to the time of death.
Ibadah to Allah is not restricted to certain time or place or something ritual only.
