The tools that I will use are: -Wax Canting in small

and large size for waxing -Fork to wax very narrow patterns and write thin fonts -Tie-dye colors; the colors are yellow, orange, light orange, red, and light red -Paintbrush -Paints in different colors; colors are blue, purple, brown, dark brown, cream, dark yellow, black, and light red -Pencil/ washable marker for outlining the shapes (optional, but recommended) (Wax and canting will be provided by school, while paintbrush, fork, tie-dye colors, paints, and pencil will be provided by myself.) Steps: 1. Drawing the outlines on the blank piece of shirt. Drawing with a relatively bold outline with washable marker, so that waxing will be easier to do.

2. Fill in the outline of shapes drawn by the pencil with wax. I will also wax the writing at the back of the shirt. The type of canting that I will use is large sized ones, so that filling will be easier and covers area faster.

3. Start tie-dyeing the background with yellow, orange, and light orange colors. The tie-dye technique that I will use is pinch tie-dye, in which I will fold the shirt in half, make a pattern (in this case circle) at the center, and fold the shirt by little bits according to the pattern. Then I will tie it with a rubber band and apply the colors with the rubber band as a divider

(I will use 2 rubber bands to divide 3 colors). In 6-7 hours it will dry off and it will be unfolded.

4. Boil the shirt in hot water to get rid off the wax, so that it will leave a blank space for me to paint. Dry it afterwards. 5. Wash and rinse the cloth in clean water. 6. Use wax in the blank space to divide the colors while painting. I will use a narrow type of canting so that it wont spill. 7. Paint the shapes, starting from the Kalimantan picture, and then heart, and then Bekantan picture, and finally the Soto Banjar picture.

8. Do batik pattern on the arms. 9. Apply tie-dye on the arms. 10. Boil and wash the shirt once more. Questions: 1. Is the plan in logical order? Why? What happen if you change the order between doing batik and tie dye? My plan is already in logical order, because I thought about doing batik or tie-dye first. Since my design needs painting, I should cover the area that I want to paint with wax, and then I will do tie-dye, and then boil the shirt, and paint. What happens if I change the order is that the shirt will either be unpaintable in different colors, or be tie-dyed properly. The shirt design will be ruined. 2. Did I plan it for the given amount of time (3 weeks)? Is it possible to be done? What can I do to make sure I follow the plan? I planned for 3 weeks, with 4 days per week. It is possible to be done, and that is why I put it in my planning chart (gantt chart). I can follow my planning step-by-step according to the time measurement to make sure I follow and finish my design. I can also make use of time efficiently so that I will make it on time. 3. Did I mention any materials/tools that I need? Will it be provided by school

or myself? Is there any materials/tools which I am not clear how to use it? I have mentioned the tools I needed above, and I did mention which tool that I will provide myself, and which that the school will provide. I am clear on how my tools are going to work, and it is the reason why I put those tools there. I can make use of other tools too, -such as forks for another way of applying the wax- if possible. 4. Have I mentioned any detailed things (measurement, amount of time or things, steps, images)? I have mentioned detailed things such as images and steps, while measurement and amount of time were only mentioned a little bit (and it is an estimation), such as what is the size of canting, what is the estimated time to finish drying the tie-dyed shirt, etc.
