[Fig 2, Edward being built, (Still image)] The overall style and take on this film is a typical production of Tim Burton. The pastel colours houses, almost eerily perfect, draws your attention even more so to Edward in his dark, black outfit. The movie almost feel fairy tale like, much like Beauty and the Beast in the idea of the character Kim (beauty) loving Edward (the beast) His visual style has always been inventive, imaginative, quirky, and
entertaining, but more often than not you rely on the high points to carry you past the awkward moments; his films tend to be great collections of bits and pieces rather than organic wholes. (Steve

Biodrowski, 2000)

[Fig 3, Edward hugging Kim (Still Image)] This film was rumored to be a biography of Tim Burton; its a very artistic piece in regards to a biography which is portrayed in a brilliant way within this film. The desire for art is actually a detriment to our survival (Pastor Matt 2013). The thoughts of isolation, plain colour and organization of the houses, the

differences in Edward to the world and the idea that even though isolation isnt a fault of Edwards he cant be helped with the position hes in, no matter how nice a character he is, at first site people would run away from Edward. This is could mean that Tim Burton felt this way in life, his outer shell brought people to walk away in the typical laid out world, as well as him being different, not quite with scissor hands but the idealistic point of it. Burton conceived the idea for Edward Scissorhands from his childhood upbringing in suburban (Wikipedia 2013) Bibliography Steve Biodrowski. 24th October 2000.
