The Tall & Twisted Tale: A Story of One Knights Quest to Join the Round Table Once upon

a time, there was a yet-to-be-knight named Sir Victor. He was a brave though foolish bloke who more than anything wanted to prove himself worthy of Arthurs round table at which he was so cruelly denied a seat at. Sir Victor decided that whenever the opportunity arose, he would take advantage of it no matter what. With a brave yet foolish heart, he set out towards his quest. A little ways yonder, Sir Victor came across his chance. O good sir, please save the princess from that castle! Her pet dragon flew her up there and she cant get down! Be careful though, the dragon doesnt trust men, warned an Old Man. Brave though foolish, Sir Victor exclaimed, I will help that princess and gain my rightful place at that table! Whoever are you speaking to young man? enquired the Old Man. Embarrassed, Sir Victor started to think up a witty plan, or as witty a plan as a brave yet foolish man can think of. Little did Sir Victor know that the little old man was actually King Arthur disguised to test Sir Victor of his worthiness to join his ranks as a noble knight. Sir Victor whipped up a brave yet foolish plan. Aha! I will dress as a woman, thus tricking the dragon, who will thus allow me to clamber up his scaly green back and then I will reach the princess, decided Sir Victor, foolishly. As he clambered toward the castle, Sir Victor deduced that the fastest way indeed would be up the dragons back so he made haste towards the nostril-flaring beast. Safely dressed as his alternate persona, Lady Victoria, the dragon let him/her upon his back, knowing that the princess had been stranded a long time and wanted some company. When the princess saw the sir/lady, she laughed so hard she started to cry and the tears flooded the castle walls until Sir Victor/Lady Victoria and the princess started to float up towards the high castle windows on top a wave of gleeful tears. The princesss tears floated Sir Victor and herself up and out of the castle through the high up windows and they safely slid down the dragons back. Unfortunately for Sir Victor, he was still wearing his Lady Victoria dress and the silly frilly wig he had hastily adorned fell off on the slide down the dragon. The dragon reared to attack the fool that dared to near his precious princess. Still busy laughing at the foolish sight she saw before her, the princess did not notice her pet dragons impending attack on the brave yet foolish Sir Victor. When she finally came to, she saw Sir Victor draw his sword to slay the beast, her beloved pet. Stop! Please stop!, she pleaded to Sir Victor, but alas, the brave yet foolish man would not listen. This beast shall pay dearly for holding you captive for so long and by slaying him, I shall finally join my rightful place at that round table and be revered as the bravest knight Arthur ever had, Sir Victor declared. The princess neednt worry for when Sir Victor drew his sword, he had forgotten he had replaced it with a lipstick during his brief yet equally hilarious period as Lady Victoria. Back beast, back! threatened Sir Victor, yielding his lipstick and still in his

dress. The princess fell back onto the ground into fresh peals of uncontrollable giggling. Unphased by the threat, knowing the dragon was still unsure of the gender of the sir/lady and thus reluctant to attack him, Sir Victor was caught off guard by the musical laughter that rung in his ears and slowed down enough to take in the beauty he saw before him that he foolishly overlooked before. Sir Victor dropped his lipstick at once. O-of course princess. Your wish is my command, stuttered Sir Victor. Surprised by the kindness of the man, the princess ordered her pet dragon to not ingest the brave yet foolish man as the dragon was hungrily drooling upon Sir Victors shoulder. Moved by the not so foolish act he saw before him, King Arthur, who was watching the whole scene unfold behind a bush, jumped out and immediately knighted Sir Victor right then and there. Not many men would stop in their quest and put aside their pride for anything or anyone. For this I grant you knighthood and invite you to join my ranks in Camelot, said Arthur. Greatly honored and surprised, Sir Victor jumped up in glee. But only under one condition, said King Arthur. Anything, my king, said the newly knighted Victor. You must first take off the dress upon your return, chuckled the king. The princess broke into another peal of muffled giggles. Arthur turned towards the princess. O wait, wait! I want to join too! exclaimed the princess. I did save us both you know, she reasoned. A princess joining the knighthood? It would put a twist in our little tale, deduced King Arthur. Very well, very well, agreed the king. As long as you vow to protect Knight Victor here for I have no doubt in my mind he will return to his foolish ways, as all men do, without a princesss guidance. The princess was ecstatic and together, the princess, the knight, and the king flew off towards Camelot on the pet dragon. The End
