Gods Power over the Frogs

About: God struck the river with frogs when Aaron stretched out his hands over the Nile River. The land was covered with warts. I mean frogs. They were also in the houses, the ovens, and even where they kneaded the bread they baked. Characters: Three narrators or puppets N1: Hey! Dont touch that frog! N2: Why not? I like frogs. N1: Youll get warts! N2: Says who? N1: My Grandmother said they give you warts. See here - I got one on my little finger. N2: Why? Did you handle a frog? N1: No, but N2: Well, how can you say that they give you warts? N1: They do I just know.

N2: I have had pet frogs for three years now and look do you see any warts on my hands? N1: No, but. N2: Then dont say that they give you warts! N3: Did I hear someone has warts? N1: Yeah! Ive got one on my little finger. You know that I heard that they come from frogs. N3: You think so? I do not believe that. Frogs do not give you warts. I read that they come from a virus from humans not frogs. By the way, did you ever hear the story about the frogs that took over the land? N1: For real? N2: I imagine everyone had warts. Warts on their fingers, warts on their toes, warts on the knuckles, and warts of their nose. Disgusting! N3: Seven days later the Lord struck the river with frogs when Aaron stretched out his hands over the Nile River. The land was covered with warts. I mean frogs. They were also in the houses, the ovens, and even where they kneaded the bread they baked. N1: Yuck! N2: I bet they even had frog pie. N1: Did the Egyptian magicians try to make frogs come up out of the land? N3: Yes, they did. The frogs all died when Moses cried out to the Lord. There were piles of frogs all over the palace. The place reeked with the stinky smell of dead frogs. N2: Pharaoh probably wanted to get rid of the Israelites didnt he?

N3: Actually, he hardened his heart so God told Aaron to strike the ground with his staff and the dust became gnats. N1: I hate those pesky things. N2: Every time we buy fruit at Farmers Market they all come home with us. They are pesky little things. N3: This time the magicians in Egypt could not produce gnats. This made the magicians realize that this was the finger of God. When the gnats went way, God told Moses to get up early and confront Pharaoh again as he went to the river. N1: Oh no! What was coming next? N2: Hey! This gets more intense as we go along. I bet it was grasshoppers. N3: No. God sent flies and this time it was only in Egypt. The land was utterly ruined. N1: I imagine Pharaoh was ready to let them go now. N2: Well, wouldnt you? N3: Instead, Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron to sacrifice to God in Egypt, but Moses did not think it was right to sacrifice to God in Egypt. N2: What does it matter where you worship God? N1: We go to church and worship God. Sometimes, we worship Him at my grandmothers church. God is everywhere! N3: God is everywhere, but He wanted to bring the Israelites away from Egypt. When God forgives us, He saves us from our sins and helps us make right choices. Pharaoh wanted Moses to pray, and Moses prayed what God wanted Him to pray asking for the flies to be removed. N1: Did God take the flies away?

N3: He sure did, but Pharaoh still hardened his heart and would not let the people go. N2: He sure was stubborn! N1: Sometimes, we are too. N3: God says stubbornness is a sin, and we must confess it to Him. N1: Yikes! My mom says to me all the time, Why are you so stubborn? N2: It that sin? N3: God sees our hearts and He is the judge. The Word says to honor your parents and obey them. Only we know if we are keeping His commandments. N1: I think Id better check with Him on this. N2: Me too! I want to keep Gods commandments. N3: I hope you boys and girls feel the same way. God loves you and wants to be your Savior, too. If we confess our sins, He is faithful to forgive us and to cleanse our hearts from all unrighteousness. His power will help us to live the way He wants us to live.
