CASE STUDY

The Cannery

Work Performed Utilising our Redline technology, Nuflow lined the 15mm copper pipe riser flow and return lines from the 100mm hot water main located in the basement ceiling. This was completed from the hot water riser isolation valve up to the meter within the unit to the shower on the third floor and the return line to the basement connecting to the balancing valve. Benefits Nuflow were contacted as a leak had developed in the hot water services flow and return line. The major cause of this issue is corrosion and faulty joints within the copper pipes contained in the pipe ducts break had occurred in the external water supply line. Utilising our Redline technology, a noninvasive rehabilitation technology, the pipes were rehabilitated and restored back to their original state without any damage to surfaces, walls or displacement of tenants. As a result, there were also no expensive restoration costs.

A one hectare landscaped area in the heart of Brisbanes Urban Renewal Precinct, The Cannery is reflects a San Fransisco design concept based around a refurbished heritage building located in the river precinct. A leak had developed in the hot water services flow and return line to a third floor unit within the building.
Alternatives The only other alternative was to excavate and replace the pipe system. This would have involved creating holes in the walls of the first and second floor units to locate the flow and return lines rising to the third floor and repair the leaks causing major disruptions to the occupants of the building.
