Ishmaels perspective is portrayed in the book. The themes in this book are based on life or death. The historys affect on these themes just makes it harsher. Its nearly impossible for everybody to understand what Ishmael went through. Knowing how unstable the government and country was just makes it even harder. I do think that it gives a different meaning to the themes.
