ABSTRACT

This Bachelor thesis deals with the topic of homelessness and people threatened by this social situation. The homeless impress us as a cautionary warning, a raised finger, which urges us to do something. It would be silly and nonsense to think, their problem does not concern us. It concerns all of us and not only because everybody can become homeless, but it is an everyday fight for life in their case,too. Theoretical part of the thesis is divided into five chapters, which touch basic concepts and links of homelessness and definition of concepts. The meaning of the theoretical part is to describe briefly but comprehensively this phenomenon, record its development in Slovakia and in the European Union as well as interconnection with life of whole society. Human dignity and ethical values in human society &uman dignity has an important position in human life. Every human represents a value in some way. 7hich implies respecting all human beings, perception of people as unsegregated, autonomous, e0ual. It creates inalienable value. The thesis focuses on ethical values, too, that are the component of social work and they are included in ethical codes of social workers. It is important to follow certain working procedures by the social workers, in this way to satisfy clients and not e ceed boundaries of ethical norms. The bachelor thesis refers to the substance and the importance of values in social work, respecting human dignity, satisfying the needs and interests of clients by social workers. The thesis deals with individual selected values, chosen by us. and their dividing. The last chapter contains proposal of research, which aims at the application of ethical principles in practice, representing values in social work. -roposal of research aims at social workers and employees of employment, social affairs and family office in Tren8$n region. To be more specific, it contains the application of ethical principles by social workers and employees to their clients and colleagues.
