Dodgeball Fundraiser Tournament

For Delta Gamma Foundation & the Canadian National Institute for the Blind

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

TIME: REGISTRATION:

11:00pm until 4:00pm It will be $5.00/player to register. Each team must send in their completed information and money by Monday, January 27th, 2014. You can drop off your registration anytime before this date at the Delta Gamma House (11009 87Avenue), or contact one of our representatives located on the contact page. We are able to meet you on campus to arrange a pick up. Teams must be a minimum of 6 players, and a maximum of 10 players. Teams are to be created with a minimum of 3 members of each gender. Teams are encouraged to dress up in themed attire and come up with a team name. There will be a prize for the most creative theme!

SOS PASSES:

During the tournament, we will be selling SOS passes at our registration table. These passes can be used any time throughout the tournament to either start the game with an extra person, or bring a person back in anytime during the game. These passes are $10.00/pass and there is no limit to the number of passes that you can purchase. The cost will go up as the tournament continues to its end. An updated price will be posted at each level. Throughout the tournament, we will be having a by donation bake sale of delicious baked goods made by the women of Delta Gamma. In addition to some sweet treats, we will also be selling healthy snacks, including vegetables and water bottles. Be sure to bring your change! Proceeds go to the Delta Gamma Foundation and the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB). Delta Gamma Foundation is an organization that supports all philanthropic endeavors of Delta Gamma Fraternity. Its mission is to provide resources for educational growth including: scholarships and loans, leadership and development, and constantly supports our motto to do good. Our main philanthropy is Service for Sight. Beta Beta chapter supports the CNIB to carry out our purpose to assist those who are legally blind or visually impaired and to spread awareness of the importance of vision.

We will be awarding prizes, based on the following categories: - Most creative team theme - Most money raised this is based on money that is donated along with the registration money due on MONDAY 27.

THE RULES
1. A game of rock-paper-scissors will be played between two team captains in order to decide which side the teams will play on. 2. A minimum of 6 players must be present to play a game, with 3 players of each gender represented. Teams are allowed to begin with an extra player if they choose to purchase and use an SOS pass. 3. If the referees ask a player to leave the court, he/she MUST obey. 4. There will be 14 balls lined up on the centerline to begin each game. Players must start with their feet against the back line and wait until the referee begins the game. 5. Players cannot cross the half court any time during play.

6. Hits all over the body are permitted, EXCEPT for headshots. 7. A player is NOT eliminated if a player on the opposite team catches a ball that they threw. 8. Argument with the referees will result in elimination from the tournament. 9. Games will be 15 minutes total, with sets of 3 games 5 minutes per game. The best of three will move on in the tournament. Games end when all players on one team have been eliminated, or when the 5-minute time is up. If a game is tied after the 5minute mark, a 1-on-1 sudden death match will take place, using 5 balls.
