Presentation Verb Simple Time: 10 minutes Past Tense

Choral Reading Activity Story : Goldilock And The Three Bears 1. Teacher provides each student with a copy of the story. (In
the beginning paragraph of the story, there are some highlighted words which are in past tense form.)

Teacher shows students the correct way of reading a story (indirectly)

Introduce students to the Verb in Simple Past Tense form.

2. Teacher reads the story and students

will read along. 3. Teacher introduces one simple sentence containing a verb that is in past form. 4. Teacher asks students to read the sentence twice and spell the verb (in past form) once. Practice Time: 13 minutes Verb Simple Past Tense Verbs - Simple Past Tense 1. Using the story, teacher provides other examples of verbs that are in past form. 2. Teacher writes the sentences on the whiteboard and students are asked to read 2 times for each example given. 3. Teacher gives another example and students are required to identify the verb and try to change it to its past form. Verb Simple Past Tense Students gets to practise their new knowledge To enforce memory on learning.

pairs in the classroom. 2. Task 1 of the worksheets requires them to identify at least 4 verb (past tense). 3. Task 2 of the worksheets requires students to change the simple present tense verbs into its past form. (at least 4 words) 4. Teacher collects the students works and then checks it. Closure Time: 2 minutes Moral Values Verb Simple Past Tense 1. Teacher asks students about what they have learned. 2. Teacher emphasizes the moral value of the story to the students. Its really not right to get inside a strangers house. Goldilocks should have waited the owner of the house and not just entered in it, have eaten and ruin everything.
