From me to you. Lately, Ive been thinking about what it means to be in Christ and to walk in Victory. Ive been convicted about my attitude and how I might be able to handle everything that comes before me in a more peaceful and victorious way. Life, as I know it, isnt always easy, and, as some say, smooth sailing. Ive been reflecting on the past thirteen years and how much my life has changed. Today, I sit here staring out my window looking at a very beautiful view of the arner !ountains. "ometimes Im very happy with the view and other times Im not so happy with it. The view of the mountains has nothing to do with my attitude. It seems that weather changes, it was twenty#four degrees below $ero a couple of weeks ago, burdens that I place upon myself and numerous other self inflicted attitude attackers can turn my smiley face to a frown in what seems like a matter of a millisecond. If I allow that to take place, its very easy for my brain to get over#flowing with stinkin# thinkin. I know better, but if Im not paying attention, and if Im walking in the flesh instead of in the "pirit, that stinking attitude can move right in and take over. !y victory on the road to recovery always comes by the gentle nudging of the %oly "pirit. %e reminds me of who I am in Christ. %e reminds me to count it &LL '(). %e reminds me of what the &postle *aul said about learning to be content in all circumstances. %e reminds me that the bottom line to *auls statement is the word learned. %e reminds me that *aul didnt +ust have contentment because one day he was a Christ follower. %e reminds me that *aul, after many years of e,perience and with the comforting guidance of the same %oly "pirit, was able to learn how to walk in that place of contentment and +oy. Im so thankful for the written word of -od because it has everything that I need to get through each and every circumstance that I face. The view out the window, the cold weather and long winters, whether Im hungry or full, rich or poor, gives me an opportunity to learn to be content and walk in +oyous victory. "o today, as I look out this window toward the mountains, I can choose to smile or I can choose to frown. I can choose to laugh or I can choose to grumble. It will always be my choice. The bible tells me that all things are lawful but not all of them are profitable. Therefore, I will never believe that choosing to walk in a bad attitude can ever be very profitable for this Christ follower. .e blessed and know that all of us can change and replace our old thinking with new ways to handle things. The bible tells us that we will be transformed by the renewing of our mind. /..Chaplain !ike
