permalink parent [ ]i_love_all 54 minutes ago damn ur post history is amazing. do u travel alone? and how are u able to travel so much. thanks if u answer =] permalink parent [ ]xeno_sapien[S] 33 minutes ago I'm 34 so I'm old. Been on a few backpacking trips around the world, and now tha t I live in the US I travel around the north american continent. But yeah, I pre tty much travel all the time (with the wife now) permalink parent [ ]timmytucker 23 minutes ago How do you afford it? permalink parent [ ]xeno_sapien[S] 22 minutes ago Cheaper than paying rent. permalink parent [ ]murp21 14 minutes ago Go on. I assume you mostly stay in tents, hostles, and couches? and have met frie nds in a lot of places. But what do you do when you need to make money on the ro ad? permalink parent [ ]timmytucker 14 minutes ago But what do you do for money? My biggest barrier to traveling is getting time of f work? permalink parent [ ]ShitIForgotMyPants 20 points 3 hours ago Camping during crazy storms can be awesome. I climbed a mountain in the Berkshir es at sunrise after sleeping through a torrential downpour that dropped 5 inches of rain over night. Turns out the entire mountain top was covered in wild blueb erry bushes and the moisture of the storm had perfectly ripened every single blu eberry up there. My friend and I spent a good two hours gorging ourselves on dew dappled blueberrys and brought a nalgene bottle full of them back to our friend

s who slept in. permalink [ ]slapshot11790 9 points 3 hours ago Jesus Christ that sounds magical permalink parent [ ]bassbar 5 points 3 hours ago Very true. Northern Wisconsin. One late night while camping on an island in a fl owage we were canoeing, I got up to pee. The hot summer wind had picked up like crazy and I walked down to the water. I was peeing into this warm breeze and all across the horizon was non-stop lightning. It sounded like a thousand people we re just rolling timpani accross this large lake. The flashes created a strobe on everything around me, almost as light as day. It was very surreal, but when the storm hit, it got real. Lots of downed trees we were lucky to not be under. permalink parent [ ]ShitIForgotMyPants 3 points 2 hours ago Yea it can get real quick. The night before there was thunder crashing in all di rections and the echoes were bouncing off all the mountains so it felt like the storm was right on top of us. During our hike in the morning we came across what looked like a 50 yard wide microburst where huge branches had just freshly been broken and bark was stripped off of trees. Glad a large limb didn't come down o n my pop up tent! permalink parent [ ]danesusername 19 minutes ago And then it gets more real when you suddenly realize you forgot your pants. permalink parent [ ]ziatonic 44 minutes ago Then you start a campfire and just... ahhhh. permalink parent [ ]keepthebrohoofstrong 4 points 2 hours ago Newfoundlander here.
