The MSc in Finance programme is a generalist nance degree, which aims to give students a deep theoretical and conceptual knowledge of nance which will prepare for a wide range of careers in the nancial sector. At least, over forty different professions are linked to this area: Trader, nancial analyst, corporate treasury, security research analyst, corporate controller In the area of Capital markets, trading and risk management, investment management, security analysis, portfolio management, the nance function of industrial, commercial and service organisations, treasury management, corporate nance, venture capital and capital restructuring, corporate planning and consultancy where a knowledge of nance is required.

The MSc in Finance is a highly selective graduate degree open to students who have obtained (or currently pursuing): A  Bachelors degree in business or economics outside of France, from a top tier international business school or university A  n M1 degree in business or economics degree in France, from a Top tier business school or university

Career-oriented and internationally focused, ESSECs MSc in Finance is an intensive program designed to add recognized expertise to your previous training in business and/or economics. It is an intensive study program offering a global approach to nance with a strong emphasis on the underlying basic skills needed to operate in todays nancial profession.

An internationally focused curriculum


The program teaches students to adapt to a multicultural environment addressing multinational issues, providing exposure to both Europe and Asia. It relies on a wide range of learning methods including lectures supplemented by analysis of case studies and current events and in-class exercises.

ESSEC Finance department is a partner of the CFA Institute. The CFA Institute (Chartered Financial Analyst) is the global association of investment professionals that sets the standard for professional excellence, for ethical behavior in investment markets and a respected source of knowledge in the global nancial community. The CFA Institute has more than 109 000 members all over the world.

Faculty
ESSECs world-class faculty members are characterized by academic excellence, a global frame of mind, and instructional creativity. The ESSEC Finance department has 20 permanent faculty and 10 or so adjunct lecturers. Departments research activity focuses on: nancial derivatives, risk management, commodities, portfolio theory, macro-nance, market microstructure, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, corporate governance, bankruptcy, liquidation and reorganization and real estate.

Masters thesis
Students must complete a Masters thesis on a specific topic in finance. The thesis will be defended before a jury.

ESSEC offers its students a full range of digital tools to help them study, share and communicate more effectively, enhance their learning experience, and facilitate their entry into the professional world. Expanded and renovated in 2008, ESSECs 3,000 m2 Learning Center is much more than a library, with thousands of books, academic journals, international newspapers, multimedia resources as well as rooms for collaborative work, Wi-Fi access and PCs available for students. The Singapore Campus Singapore has always been in the vanguard of Asian development and continues to attract multinationals from all over the world.
