MISSIONARY
We are excited to present the summer camping ministry of Gitche Gumee, 2014! Enclosed you will find a list of our speakers for this year as well as other valuable information to keep you connected with all that is happening. We hope that you and your family and friends will join us this summer to get into God's Word, come away and rest awhile, and be refreshed in body and spirit. Gitche Gumee began because of a burden God put in the heart of John J. Rader who originally founded the camp to minister to the youth of Upper Michigan's Copper Country. In the chilling winter of 1930, John Rader began to construct some of the very buildings that still stand today as a testimony to his faith and calling and to the exceeding and abundant blessings of God. Though John Rader's vision was great, through the years, the ministry of Gitche Gumee has expanded even beyond his dreams to REACH generations of young people, adults, and families from all over the world for Christ and to TEACH an everchanging world the never-changing truths of the Word of God. Today, the dreams of John Rader continue on in a contemporary setting. Campers enjoy a variety of fun activities, a joyous time of praise and worship, spiritual refreshment from the Word of God, and physical nourishment from our world famous dining room! Add to that the encouragement of fellowship and friendship with other believers, all enjoyed in our beautiful facilities and set in the scenic, rustic beauty of the Keweenaw Peninsula, and you have a vacation that is unsurpassed. We invite you to join us and enjoy what others have experienced now for 84 years and counting. Come enjoy Gitche Gumee!
