Therapeutic Process
Therapeutic Goals - The basic goal of transactional analysis is to help clients make new decisions about their current behavior and the direction of their lives.
Therapists function & role Assists the clients in discovering the disadvantageous condition of the past under which they made decisions, adopted life plans which they might now wish to reconsider
Is to help clients to discover inner power to change by making appropriate decisions now

Therapeutic Process Contd

Relationship between therapist & client - Focuses on change
escape hatches includes
harm or kill myself harm or kill you provoke you to harm or kill me go crazy run away.

Any client with an escape hatch remaining open will not change, or the changes observed will more than likely be cosmetic. Contracts can be instrumental in closing these escape hatches
