Awakening a Love for Christ in the Heart of Richmond March 9, 2014 The First Sunday in Lent 10:55 a.m.
Please fill out the communication card and place it in the offering plate during the offertory. Please stand for these parts of the service.
Happy are those whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Happy are those to whom the LORD imputes no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit. Therefore let all who are faithful offer prayer to you; at a time of distress, the rush of mighty waters shall not reach them. You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with glad cries of deliverance.
Austrian Hymn
PRAYER OF CONFESSION (IN UNISON) One: Many: One: Many: One: Have mercy on us, O God, according to your steadfast love; According to your abundant mercy blot out our transgressions. Wash us thoroughly from our iniquity, and cleanse us from our sin, For we know our transgressions, and our sin is ever before us. Against you, you alone, have we sinned, and done what is evil in your sight, Hide your face from our sins, and blot out all our iniquities. Create in us a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within us. Do not cast us away from your presence, and do not take your Holy Spirit from us. Restore to us the joy of your salvation, and sustain in us a willing spirit. Forgive us, O God, through your Son Jesus Christ. Amen.
