I actually got into the book and could feel how the characters felt. This is one of the best books I have ever read. Divergent - Divergent is an adventure; it will captivate you from beginning to end! Winter Girls by Laurie Halse Anderson Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson - Freshmen can relate to Melindas situation and how she is feeling. When Dad Killed Mom by Julius Lester Killing Kennedy by Bill OReilly - If you like history and the circumstances that made [his] assassination possible amazed me. You must read [this] book! The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins Flowers in the Attic by V.C. Andrews The Lying Game Series by Sara Shephard The Book Thief by Markus Zusak Twisted by Laurie Halse Anderson Holes by Louis Sachar Small Steps by Louis Sachar - Small Steps takes place after the book Holes. All of the characters are in it, but they are all like 16-18 now. Black and White by Paul Volponi Slam Magazine Bluford High Series - Students can definitely relate to these books! Spiderwick Chronicles by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black War Brothers (graphic novel) by Sharon McKay Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck

Crank by Ellen Hopkins Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs Number the Stars by Lois Lowry Tangerine by Edward Bloor Unwind by Neal Shusterman - I really enjoyed this book! Its about unwanted teenagers that misbehave or aren't living up to their parents standards. They can be sent to a harvest camp and be unwound. Cut by Patricia McCormick Rangers Apprentice by John A. Flanagan The Gospel According to Larry by Janet Tashjian Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky Big Mouth and Ugly Girl by Joyce Carol Oates Persepolis (graphic novel) by Marjane Satrapi The Color Purple by Alice Walker
