Election Day Fair at Upper Sturt Primary


Here is the 2nd community newsletter edited and published by Upper Sturt Primary School. The children in the promotions Forum and their teacher are doing a great job. You are welcome to share news stories with us, we would like this to by your newsletter. People who came to our Election Fair Day enjoyed delicious hot coffee made by our fully trained barista parents and munched away on delicious baked goods. Children enjoyed having their faces painted and hair coloured and won prizes playing the side show games. Check out the back page. Pedal cars were also very popular with the little tackers. Not only is there great learning at Upper Sturt Primary but there is also lots of great fun.

Mount Lofty Ranges on World Heritage List?


A consortium of South Australian Councils and other groups is proposing that the agrarian landscape of the Mount Lofty Ranges should be placed on UNESCO's World Heritage list. University of South Australia's Hawke Centre is holding two free lectures that will help clarify the process involved, and provide more information about the benefits of World Heritage listing for the Mount Lofty Ranges primary production area. Why did you want to work at the General Store? When I first looked at buying the General store, and I saw how sad it was and how it wasnt being looked after, I thought it must be my job to buy it and fix it. Coming up to June, we will have been here for six years. When was the store first established? The store has been here for about 135 years now. The original owners lived and worked here. We are the first owners of the store who havent lived here as well! What is the most popular food/drink? The milkshakes are definitely high on the list, and the hotdogs and hamburgers are super popular. Tell us about the party room. We have had the party supplies for a quite a few months now, but it became very big very quick, so we couldnt keep it all in the front of the General Store.
