APPRECIATION

First of all I feel very grateful that I had finished this assignment on time. I had learned a lot while finishing my assignment. Many peoples had help and give a full support for me. I am very thankful to everyone who all supported me. Next, I would like to thank my parent for always supporting me to learn more in English Language Proficiency II although they know that I am not good enough in English. So, having them supporting me is enough to make sure that this assignment is done. Moreover, I am also grateful to my teacher, Madam Norazah binti Abdul Aziz. She gave me moral support and guided me in different matters regarding the topic. She had been very kind and patient while suggesting me the point of this assignment and correcting my doubts. I thank her for her overall supports. I would also would like to thank to all my beloved friends who always help me when Im not understand about something. We also always discuss about this assignment so that we manage to complete this assignment successfully.

1.0 Summary

REVENGE

Jack Bright had adopted a kitten named Sooty. His wife already died a long time ago. He also lost contact from his only son who emigrated to Australia. Sooty always disappeared during the night. Jack Bright love his kitten so much. He cant sleep well when Sooty disappeared. On the first night, he felt very lonely. He also thought that he will never see Sooty again. However, on the next morning, Sooty came home. He felt very relieves. After that, on the next evening, Sooty once again got out and back home on the next morning. He considered to lock up the catflop but he thought that it is too cruel. A week later, when he read the Evening News report about the cat mutilator, he became worried but he try to convince his heart that Sooty will be alright. Then, the local TV News report about an escaped wild animal. The person who responsible for mutilate a dozens of cats in the area claims that he was attacked by a big cat as big as panther. Jack decided to board the catflop up and Sooty cant go outside. She meow pitifully. The following night, he let Sooty out. He carry the kitten and let her go. Then, he saw something big. He also saw his poor little Sooty got eaten and he only could say go get him, Sooty!.

3.0 PERSONAL RESPOND

This story is very good and although this story quite simple, but it has good massage to give. This story is about Jack Bright who had adopted new kitten named Sooty. He live alone at his house after he lost his wife that is long ago died while his son who had been emigrated to Australia was still cannot be contact. Jack bright is a loving father and a good husband. He always care and love his family. He love his son and he managed to emigrate his son to another country because he want to see his only son success in life that he chose. This story is quite sad because I could never think that a son could just forgot his home land and his family just to find happiness. I think the true happiness is to be there for our family. Moreover, the way narrator write his story is very interesting and I think it is very impressive. This story used simple vocab and could easily understand it. That is why I think this story is suit for all age. Next, I think I had fall in love with the kitten. I admit that Im cat lover. I love cats and I thinks all people will love them too because of their cuteness and charm. When I read about Sooty, Im cannot stop imagine her true face in my head. Covered by black fur, with mouse-like face and yellow-green eyes, she is just cute cuddly kitten and I think this characteristic is enough to make me fall in love with her. This story also could open all simple minded person around the word that hate cat. This is because cat can be a good pet. They also very loyal and cute. Sooty was a cute kitten that always accompany Jack during the day. Although she had some weird habit that is wandering outside during midnight but I think it is not a big deal. Im also

wondering where she goes and what she do outside Jack house. The narrator never explain what she did and it is quite sad. Moreover this story also gave an important massage to all people around the world that is never leave our cat wandering alone during midnight. This is because it is very dangerous. Moreover, this story tell us about jack who did not took precaution step by following advice that had been given by RSPCA that is to keep Sooty inside for

fortnight. But the way Jack react when Sooty disappeared is very touching. I could really cry when she was been eaten by the big cat. Such a horrible scene to imagine. I think if I at Jack shoes, I will never let Sooty go. This is about his life sake, so I will never let her go. Although I think this is a good story, but the ending of this story is quite surprise me. I never thought that the big cat will eat another cat. Furthermore Sooty was just a small kitten and I think it not logic if the big cat will eat something small as Sooty. I think the big cat would find more big and delicious meal such as dog or cow yet something else beside that small cuddly cat. Besides that, the setting is set at Jack house and in front of his house where Sooty had been eaten. This story have least place to be a setting. The social setting is about a person who love cat and live alone. After that, I think this story tell me that it is important to love our family. This is because family is always love us and without them, we never know where we could call one place named home. When we small, they always care for us and love us. That is why family is always number one and should not be forget. Furthermore, this story also tell me that it is important to make a safe action by following order from others. Maybe we dislike this part but we must take note that it is important to open our mind and accept other perception or ideas. Next, we must always love animals. Without them, we did not know what will happen to our live. Animals is created to let us human who have brain to study and learn about them yet love them. Animals such as cats is very suitable for us to make them as our pet. This is because they is very cute and very loyal to their owner. Always be with them and care for them. This is our jobs as a human.

As a conclusion, this story is very good and many good side can be extract from this simple yet short story. I am felt very lucky to read this story and learn about Sooty. I hope I will find another good story such as this.

REFLECTION

It is hard to believe that I finally accomplish my task to find a story and to analyse the story based on its setting, characters and moral values. Through this task, a manage to improve my vocabulary. It is very important to improve my vocabulary as a step to be a good teacher in the future. Next, I also learned how to make a good summary from a story. It is quite hard to make a summary from a story that is not has a specific content such as report that we can take straight from them. Im also want to improve more in English so, it is my pleasure to make this course work and happily I think I did it well. I found my story and then learnt about the story yet falling love with the cat. Furthermore, through this task, I manage to learn how to find story setting, characters and moral value. From this point, I also improve myself in creating a good graphic organizer. This skill is very important to make note way easier to read. I think this is where we learn how to analyse something hard to read and too complex into simple graphic and easy to read and understand. As a conclusion, it is important to learn and practice a new things in our life so that everything that others think hard to do is actually became easier for us because we already learned about it. So, what I get from this task is never give up to learn something new and always try it first and experience it so that we will success in the future.
