Swelab Reagents

New original Swelab reagents. For maximum performance and quality from AC cell counters
With new reagent technology the results from Swelab AC-counters will get better stabilty and clearer diff separation, at the same time as the machine get longer MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) The new reagent comes from Boule Medicals recently aquired reagent development in Florida, CDS (Clinical Diagnostic Solutions, Inc.). CDS is an offspring from the merger between Coulter Corporation and Beckman Instruments and holds some of the worlds most reputable experts in hematology reagent, with decades of experience and with over 35 patents issued. The new reagents AutoTon , AutoLyze and AutoTerge have been developed specifically with Swelab AC-counters in mind, and holds the latest CDS NextGenerationTM technology which will get the most possible out of a cellcounter.

Original reagents with the latest technology The CDS NextGeneration technology holds latest technology to get the most out of a cell counter. The new characteristics of the reagent will enhance results in several ways: Better cleaning from AutoTergent. The new AutoTergent holds a new improved formula containing an enzymatic cleaner and a new lubricating agent, which more efficiently will clean and lubricate the interior of the flow system. This will give a lower wear and tear of the rotary valve, and a longer MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) of the system in general. Stabilized RBC population from AutoTon. The old AC Diluid sometimes have an expanding effect on the red blood cells after a few hours in the diluent. This may cause problems on stored or transported red blood cells, with a drift in MCV, RDW, HCT and MCH values. With the new AutoTon diluent a more stable RBC population is obtained. Improved WBC differential from AutoLyze. One weak spot of the old AC Diff Lyse is that some Neutrophil cells end up in the Lymphocyte population rather than the Granulocyte population where they belong. This gives a unpredictable error, sometimes up to 5-10% too high value of the Lymphocyte population. At the time of the development of the AC Diff reagent - in the 1990s- this was not considered a major problem. Just to have an indication on the WBC differential was considered enough. However, these days the requirements from the hospitals are higher, and the new AutoLyze clearly separates the populations better compared to reference methods.

As shown in above evaluation of both regents, the Lymph populations accuracy has been considerably improved from an r2 of 0.77 to 0.88. The Granolucyte population adjusts accordingly, with a slight increase and a more correct alignment to reference.

Article information Who can use NextGeneration reagents? All AC900, AC910, AC920 or AC970 models will benefit from CDS NextGeneration reagents. What is required to change? To change to CDS NextGeneration reagents is very simple. No adjustments inside the machine are required, simply empty the system of the old reagent, change containers, re-fill and re-calibrate the system. The change can be made by laboratory staff using a short step-by-step guide. Art no 1504103 1504104 1504114 1504105 Article Name AutoTon AutoTon
