Tonight our students will present their Shakespeare performances which they have undertaken as part of their Bronze Arts Award. It has been quite a challenge this year to put this festival together with students working on these productions in both lessons and after school rehearsal. For many this will be their first time in front of an audience and so there will be no doubt a lot of nervous actors making their debut! My thanks go to Miss Samantha Parker and her team of Gold Arts Award 6 th Form directors for putting the festival together. I hope that you will all enter into the spirit of the performances and support the students tonight by being an appreciative audience. Many thanks and I hope you will enjoy! Mr C. Cresswell
Romeo and Juliet Believed to have been written between 1594 and 1596, this is perhaps Shakespeares most famous play. Romeo & Juliet is the tragedy of two star crossed lovers; children of two opposing families, the Montagues and Capulets. Their relationship is short lived however as the hatred between the two families spills over onto Veronas streets and pushes the young lovers on a road toward their inevitable demise.

A Midsummer Nights Dream A Midsummer Night's Dream is one of Shakespeares most beloved comedies; believed to have been written between around 1596. It portrays the events surrounding the marriage of the Duke of Athens, where multiple plot threads come into play including: the misadventures of four young lovers and a group of amateur mechanical players, who are controlled and manipulated by the fairies who inhabit the forest outside of Athens in which most of the play is set.
