Workshop Overview
The objectives of this 3-day course are to acquire a thorough understanding of critical maintenance, trouble-shooting and failure prevention systems to ensure safety and reliability of oil and gas transmission pipelines. The course offers an overview of both onshore and offshore pipeline threats and techniques for hazard / risk identication and subsequently explains development and implementation of effective mitigation, monitoring and corrective action strategies. These include essential inspection, anomaly processing and tness for service analysis methods. The course lessons are driven home through a series of 10 multi-disciplinary case-study class exercises developed from the instructors personal experiences encountered in 30 years of pipeline integrity involvement. The 1st day will be focused on pipeline conguration designs, safety systems, standards and hazard / threat identication, risk analysis and risk management. The 2nd day will be devoted to corrosion, pipeline monitoring / inspections and maintenance, including routine and progressive pigging. The 3rd day will focus on chemical treatments, repairs, contingency and emergency response planning and the role of root cause failure analysis in failure prevention.

Why You Cannot Miss This Event

Pipelines are the critical link from resource to market, so must perform safely and reliably. At the same time, pipeline systems continue to age, with many being asked to perform well beyond their design life. Recently, pipeline operations are under increased government scrutiny and regulation to ensure public safety and to oversee that required integrity management systems are in place. The responsible operator must understand their pipelines tness-for-service and implement effective monitoring and maintenance activities to prevent failures and ensure timely product delivery to customers. Course attendees will walk away with an excellent understanding of all the processes and tools require to make this happen in their own operations.
