Oscar-nominated filmmaker John Sayles continues his examination of the complexities of American
sub-cultures in Honeydripper- an uplifting fable about the birth of rock n’ roll. Danny Glover stars as
Tyrone, the proprietor of the Honeydripper Lounge in 1950’s Alabama. The club is deep in debt.
Desperate to bring back the crowds to his club, he announces a one-night appearance by the legendary
‘Guitar Sam.’ But when Sam fails to arrive, he’s forced to turn to a young drifter with a strange guitar
to help save the club. The movie also stars Charles S. Dutton, Lisa Gay Hamilton and Mary
Steenburgen. 123 mins.
Monty Python’s Life of Brian 7:30 p.m. showtime on Friday, Saturday & Sunday
Directed by Terry Jones - Rated R
Monty Python delivers a scathing, anarchic satire of both religion and Hollywood's depiction of all
things biblical with their second--and tightest--full-length film. The setting is the Holy Land in 33 A.D., a
time of poverty and chaos, with no shortage of messiahs, followers willing to believe in them, and
exasperated Romans trying to impose some order. At the center of it all is Brian Cohen (Graham
Chapman), a reluctant would-be messiah who rises to prominence as a result of a series of absurd and
truly hilarious circumstances that parallel the life of Christ--providing ample opportunity for the entire
ensemble (John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones, Michael Palin, and Chapman) to shine in
multiple roles as they blaspheme and mock everyone and everything from ex-lepers, Pontius Pilate,
and the art of haggling to crazy prophets, Roman centurions, and crucifixion. - RottenTomatoes.com

Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead 9:15 p.m. showtime on Friday & Saturday
Directed by Sidney Lumet - Rated R
Master filmmaker Sidney Lumet directs this absorbing suspense thriller about a family facing the
worst enemy of all – itself. Oscar-winner Philip Seymour Hoffman plays Andy, an overextended broker
who lures his younger brother, Hank (Ethan Hawke) into a larcenous scheme: the pair will rob a
suburban mom-and-pop jewelry store that appears to be the quintessential easy target. The problem is,
the store owners are Andy and Hank’s actual mom and pop and, when the seemingly perfect crime goes
awry, the damage lands right at their doorstep. Oscar-winner Marisa Tomei plays Hoffman’s trophy
wife, who is having a clandestine affair with Hawke, and the stellar cast also includes Albert Finney as
the family patriarch who pursues justice at all costs, completely unaware that the culprits he is hunting
are his own sons. 117 mins.
