Academics Skills Coordinator Graduate Student Position Part-time, 2.

5 month contract $2,700 stipend June 16 August 22 The Summer Academic Success Institute Greenlight Program (SASI Greenlight) is a transitional bridge program for matriculating international students. The goal of the program is to prepare students for the college classroom experience and to address cultural and procedural challenges that international students typically face when starting college in the United States. There will be a strong emphasis on the quality of writing required and the study skills needed to succeed at Whittier College. As a part of SASI Greenlight, students will be enrolled into INTD 80: Summer Transitional Writing Workshop and a 3credit College-level course. The Academic Skills Coordinator will: Serve as one of the instructors for INTD 80, delivering content on academic skill building and campus resources in a workshop format. Train and supervise a peer mentor for INTD 80. Coordinate with the writing instructor of INTD 80 to identify student needs and any arising student issues. Guide and refer students to campus resources as needed. Work with Advising Office and Office of International Programs to complete new student forms and registration requirements. Assist in facilitation of relationship between instructor and student. Regular check-ins with students on transition, course progress, and resources.
