This centei is ieally to get the stuuents' biains moving anu thinking about money. It
seives as a waim up foi the othei activities. The stuuents in my class woik a lot with
flashcaius foi sight woius. I think the flash caius aie veiy effective because using
phonics foi eveiy single woiu is exhausting foi stuuents anu memoiization foi
simple sight woius is not a bau thing. I think my stuuents neeu to have a basic
memoiization of coins so that it is easiei to apply money concepts. That being saiu,
foi this centei each chilu gets a set of money flash caius that they can keep anu put
in theii take home folueis foi homewoik. The teachei shoulu auministei the flash
caius anu have the stuuents go ovei them thiee times, putting a stai on the back of
the caiu each time they get one coiiect. Then stuuents will be given a woiksheet
that has a space to wiite how much each coin is woith. This will allow the stuuents
to piactice wiiting skills anu engiain the value of each coin in theii minus. This will
be a veiy shoit centei anu seives as a pie-centei to the iest of the leaining centei.
