FIRST TEAM Naomi Brown, South, Fr.: Finished as areas fastest butterflier with a 1:04.11 for fourth at sectional.

Also took sixth in the 200 individual medley at sectional with a 2:23.75. Member of 200 medley relay that took third at sectional. Brooke Calvin, North, Jr.: Took three second drop from prelim to finals in 100 breaststroke at sectional and placed second by only .35 with a 1:08.44. Also took runner-up position in 200 individual medley with a 2:16.55. Leadoff for 200 medley relay that placed second at sectional and 200 free relay that was third. Had some of areas best times in the 100 and 200 frees, backstroke (1:04.90), butterfly (1:10.34). Third time as a first-teamer. Celina German, South, Fr.: H-T swimmer of the year was the areas only state swimming qualifier. Sped to a 24.06 in the 50 free and a season best 53.44 at state in the 100 free 24th place. CI champ in 100 free. Also handled legs for Souths 200 and 400 free relays, which took second at sectional. Also had a 2:04.31 in the 200 free, 1:04.81 in the 100 back and a 1:03.64 in the 100 fly. Courtney McKeen, South Jr. and Maggie Gates, South, So.: Each had their moments this season and a turn to lead the way as the Panthers top divers. McKeen won the CI title (417.60) and set a sectional record with a career best 449.50, while Gates was runner-up both times, with a 378.05 at conference and a career best 433.75 at sectional. But at regional, Gates was second, McKeen seventh, and at state, Gates finished 15th and McKeen 22nd. Amber Speicher, South, Jr: Made all-area team as sprinter last year. This time, she mastered the distance frees, posting a 2:01.91 in the 200 free for fourth at sectional and a 5:21.28 in the 500 free for second. Also had a 26.91 50 and 58.72 100 during season. Anchored 200 free relay to second at sectional and had leg for 400 free relay that was also runner-up. Repeat first-teamer. Macy Wenzel, South, Sr.: Areas top backstroker at sectional posted season best 1:03.58 for third. Also placed fifth in 200 IM (2:21.78) and led off 200 medley relay. Second-teamer last year. SECOND TEAM Michaela Alexander, Edgewood, Sr.: Swiver had strong finish to career. As a diver, placed third at sectional in a school record 380.45, eighth at regional and 29th in her first ever state appearance. As a swimmer, fifth at sectional in the 100 free (56.19 prelim) and anchored both free relays to fifth. Won WIC titles in all four events as well. Bailey Catt, North, Sr.: Injury slowed start to season, but still went 25.92 in 50 free and 56.82 in 100 free at sectional. Anchor for sectional runner-up medley relay and third-place 200 free relay. Went 2:07.74 in 200 free, 1:15.78 in 100 breast. Rachael Doehla, South, So.: Just .07 out of third in 100 breast at sectional in 1:14.72. Anchor for 200 medley and held leg for 200 free relay.

Delaney Halloran, South, Sr.: Steady performer was sixth at sectional in the 500 free (5:37.09 prelim), and seventh in 100 fly (1:06.86) prelim. Bailee Koi, North, Jr.: Took fifth in 100 breast at sectional (1:15.03) while also placing ninth in 50 free (26.79) and owned legs for the medley relay and 200 free relay. Hannah Kunzmann, South, Fr.: Had a strong sectional final with a 25.89 for sixth in 50 and a 56.6 for third in the 100. Also handled legs for the 200 and 400 free relays. Had a 2:09.84 in the 200 free. Sonia Rista, North, Fr.: Handled four-swim sectional final with a sixth in 100 back and eighth in 200 IM to go with legs for the medley relay and 400 free relay. Taryn Roll, South, So.: Another member of Souths strong distance corps, placing sixth at sectional in the 200 free (2:07.91) and eighth in the 500 (5:45.55). Anchored 400 free relay to second. Caitlynn Sears, South, Sr.: Finished third at sectional in 100 breast (1:14.65) and ninth in 100 fly (1:09.44). Held down leg for medley relay.
