The Chess 'n Math Association, a Canada-wide non-profit organization dedicated to bringing the game of chess to children provides lessons for students 6-16 years of age. Studies show that children who learn chess show rapid improvements in mathematics, reading, spatial awareness, visualization, focus, social skills and much more. Our lessons are tailored for beginner to advanced students and our small class sizes (maximum of 12 students) allow for quality instruction. Certificates indicating the level achieved are awarded at the end of each course, and the best part ischildren learn through play!

LEVEL PAWN KNIGHT BISHOP ROOK SESSION SPRING NO LESSON DESCRIPTION Square one: Basic rules & how the pieces move. Students learn check, checkmate and stalemate. Basic tactics: Forks, pins, double-attacks, etc. Fairly competent players/those rated 500 - 750. DATES: MARCH MAY, 2014 FRIDAYS: 21st MARCH 30th MAY, 2014 FRIDAY, 18th APRIL, 2014 QUEEN KING INTER. ADVN. Strategy & tactics/those with rated 750-900. Advanced strategy/tactics: for rated 900-1000. Positional play etc./those rated 1000-1100. Advanced concepts/those rated 1200-1300. COST $50 10 weeks
