Dear Mr. Moyes, Having just watched our loss away to your previous employer, Everton FC, I have come to the conclusion that you are no longer fit to continue in your role as manager of Manchester United Football Club. I have been a season ticket holder at Manchester United since 1989 and have travelled to a large percentage of away games both domestically and abroad in that time. I have never seen a season with so many lacklustre displays. The passion, the drive and the desire that has been at the forefront of this great club for so many years has been destroyed in one season. I believe that can only have been down to yourself. You are installing a mentality of going out and making sure we dont lose, Manchester United should be going out with the mentality to win. In 12 games against the top 6, we have only taken 6 points from 36 available, scoring a mere 6 goals and winning once. If we are to compete at the top this is far from good enough. This is the same squad that won the league at a canter last season (albeit a poor season for all the top sides) but we were beating the top sides and many of these players have won countless league titles and have Champions League Winners medals. You have also made 3 additions to this squad, with the arrival of Marouane Fellaini (I will talk about this later), Juan Mata and the emergence of Adnan Januzaj, yet we have got worse!! I have supported yourself throughout the campaign, when others turned against you early on (granted, these were mainly armchair supporters) but the time has come to speak up. You need to address the fans. You said after todays defeat, we passed the ball brilliantly well, we controlled the game, im sure you were watching a different game to the rest of us! We had two shots on target. No team deserves to win a game with two shots on target!! Some of your comments post match in the majority of our games have been bizarre to say the least. Bayern Munich away, Wayne Rooney was not fit enough to kick a ball why start him then?? Southampton and WBA at home We were unlucky, we were the better side..So we should be against bottom half of the table teamswhere does it end?? These are not things a Manchester United Manager says!! I would be particularly appreciative if you would explain some of your tactics. You spend nigh on 40 million on Juan Mata, a great player, but lets be honest, a panic buy to keep us happy. In the past 2 seasons at Chelsea he has flourished in the Number 10 role, creating chance after chance and scoring important goals, you play him wide. He has no pace and is not a winger! nd Maroaune Fellaini, a midfielder whos 2 touch is always a tackle and for someone so tall, he makes Ronnie Corbett look good at heading. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. You seem intent on playing 4-2-3-1, which is perfectly acceptable in the modern era, but you can not play RVP, Rooney, Kagawa and Mata all at the same time. In my opinion RVP must be left out. In the single season where Wayne Rooney played at the spearhead of attack, he scored 31 goals. Since RVP has been injured we have been scoring goals at will, playing people in their respective positions. Chris Smalling at right back, he couldnt cross the road, never mind a ball and he has been one of our better defenders of late. I understand you may not have had the backing of the board in recent transfer windows but again, I go back to the point that this is still a title winning squad.

Another small thing I have noticed is that we always seem to be on the back foot early in games. In previous seasons, If United have taken the Kick Off, we will keep possession for a good 2-3 minutes, giving everyone a touch of the ball and gaining a small amount of confidence whilst trying to put the opponent under a degree of pressure. Now, we hoof it long and give away possession in the first 20 seconds, allowing the opponent to start an attack. The belief in the squad has died completely. In our first 29 games this season, your record matched that of your final season at Everton. Same number of wins, same number of draws, same number of losses, same number of goals conceded, if my memory serves me correctly, we had scored one more goal. This is no coincidence. I am not the manager of Manchester United and you have far more football knowledge than myself, but something has to change. I will always respect Gary Neville, had a nightmare away at West Brom and after the game he held his hands up and said Im not good enough anymore and walked away, something Rio Ferdinand should consider instead of bleeding the club dry to support his business ventures!! Im far from saying the board should sack you, but that you would have far more respect from Manchester United fans if you walked away. This was never going to be an easy job following in Sir Alexs footsteps but I have tried to believe in you but this has been the worst season in my memory and capped off by the scum down the East Lancs winning the title. It actually cant get worse! Please address the fans in some way and tell us what is happening, we deserve to be more involved, rather than being by-passed with poor excuses. Whether it be season ticket holders or Sky Sports subscribers, fans pay a lot of money to follow Manchester United. We deserve answers. If you can not deliver, hold your hands up, admit this job is not for you and walk away with your dignity. You would still get a top job. Many thanks for taking the time to read this letter. Kind Regards

Ben Oakes
