Dear Nancy Athanasiou, Thank you for taking the time to review my electronic portfolio and DVD. I am proud and excited to share what my hard work and dedication at Alverno has allowed me to accomplish. I selected examples of work that best demonstrate my growth in accordance to both the Wisconsin Teaching Standards and the Alverno Education Abilities. My electronic portfolio is available for you to view at: http://hannahgalstadportfolio.weebly.com/ At the very top of the screen you will see a Home Tab. That is just a short introduction about me.When you place your cursor over the tab, three sub tabs will appear that include a Letter to new students, two external and internal assessor letters, and my candidate evidence sheet. To the right of the home tab is the Abilities Tab. When you click on this tab it will take you to a page with a brief overview of the Wisconsin Teaching Standards and the Alverno Education Abilities. If you place your mouse over the tab, five sub tabs will appear. This is the heart of my portfolio. The five sub tabs you will see are the individual Alverno Education Abilities. Within each sub tab I explain my growth in that specific ability, connect it to the Wisconsin Teaching Standards, while also giving examples of my workasevidenceofthisgrowth.Thenexttabistitled,VideoL esson.Thematerialinthistabgoes along with the 28-minute DVD that you will find in your folder. This video provides you with a visual representation of my teaching abilities. The two lesson plans you will see in this tab are accompanied by self -assessments and feedback from my cooperating teachers, along with any relevant materials I have incorporated into each lesson. All of which are also enclosed in your folder. The first lesson on the DVD you will watch is a lesson titled, Squirrels and the second one is titled, Who works at city hall? The next tab over is Field Experiences. Within this I have listed all four school field placements. Under each school heading you will find a lesson in which I have created and implemented, feedback from my university supervisor regarding the lesson, and cooperating teacher feedback from my time spent working within their classroom. The last two tabs are titled, Resume and More. Included within the Resume tab you will also see my list of professional references. Under the More tab I have included an essay that offers you an in-depth look into my philosophy of education.
