always had children in our home. This also helped to influence my choice of profession. I saw how some of the children learned once there was someone there to help them, and this brought me such great joy. Ive always loved to see the light-bulb effect in childrens eyes as they learn something new. I also wanted to become an Early Childhood Educator because I wanted to give children a strong foundation early in their learning experiences. If you will allow me to nurture, care, and teach your prizedpossessions, this will be a successful and fun school year. I will do my best to meet your expectations as an educator. This Weeks Booming Assignment contd We will also explore and play with new sight words such as: all are am black but came eat get good have CLASS RULES AND EXPECTATIONS In order for us to have a successful school year, there must be some rules and expectations applied to our class. These are our class RULES. 1. Always have all material needed for class. 2. Come prepared to learn without disrupting your classmates. 3. Do your best at ALL times. 4. Be courteous and do not talk when others are talking; wait for permission. 5. Have fun learning.

Please go over and have your child recite them with you and have them write each word three times each. We will also explore different types of rocks on an outside scavenger hunt. An assessment will be given each Friday to track the progress of each students progress during the week.

Standardized Test & Test-Taking Tips On the day of testing, children will be nervous and anxious. In order to help students with this, we are going to learn some breathing and relaxing exercises to help alleviate stress levels. Prior to coming to school, parents please ensure the following tips are carried out to help your child have a successful stress-free testing session. Make sure your child gets a good nights rest. Make sure your child is prepared with all tools needed for testing. (2 #2 pencils) Have your child present during all days of testing and on time. Please, avoid stressful situations at home, if possible. Remain positive RELAX

Read The Gingerbread Man with your little one and make some GINGERBREAD COOKIES!!! The recipe is listed below. Have your little one help measure out the ingredients and help them read some of the direction. Ask questions to see if they understand what youre doing as you prepare the ingredients.

Ingredients: 3/4 cup molasses 1/3 cup packed brown sugar 1/3 cup water 1/8 cup butter, softened Directions: 1. In a medium bowl, mix together the molasses, brown sugar, water and butter until smooth. Combine the flour, baking soda, allspice, ginger, cloves and cinnamon; stir them into the wet mixture until all of the dry is absorbed. Cover the dough and chill for at least 3 hours. 2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out into desired shapes. Place cookies 1 inch apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. 3. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove from the cookie sheets to cool on wire racks. 3 and cup all purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice 1 teaspoon ground ginger 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
