(SAMPLE ESSAY) (HOPE)

I could see by her face that she was really angry. I was almost convinced that I saw steam emitting from her nostril as she tried
to go out from recently crashed space ship that was piloted by me from the International Departure Station (IDS) in south
Russia.
Slowly, I approached her and apologized. I!m sorry "ena, I #now I should not force the ship to enter the !worm hole! during
low ship energy, I pleaded softly. $ctually this was my first e%perience wor#ing as a captain for the &arth Defense
$ssociation(&D$) in a very important mission which was to ensure 'etaoreon that was &arth traditional enemy cannot use its
sub(bases to launch any attac# on our controlled areas including &arth and ).* "ight +ears ,ube in the center of the 'il#y
-ay.
.ased on information that our association recently receivd, the sub(bases would be completed in /0 hours from the start of
this mission and if it was completed maybe nobody could reach the area because from the information the defense would
came out with a fourth generation technology.
1ur group consists of )2 elite army soldiers who were commanded by me and my assistant ,ommander II ,aptain "ena
3agari. .ut during the transmission we had some technical problems. -e failed reach to the targeted destination and the space
ship seemed unable to activate.
,aptain, what should we do4 5he space ship!s control system is definitely damaged. Suddenly the ship technician shoc#ed
me from the bac#. I stunted a while. $gain I stared at my assistant hoping for suggestion but there was no reaction from her as
I had e%pected.
I want you to re6uest help from our nearest ally, ,orrono $lliance. 5ell them our location and tell to send support as soon as
possible. I pleaded after a few minutes thin#ing. $fter that, the technician left to announce the decision to other units. .ut at
that time "ena loo#ed at me angrily.
I don!t #now why you were selected to handle this important mission since you don!t have any e%perience in real space
battle. She said.
7ow loo# we are in trouble, our distance from the enemy is not secure and the probability they can detect our presence is
high. It is not impossible the enemy will attac# us first when the ship is not in ready for battle. .ut before I had the
opportunity to e%plain, the red light and alarm turned on to indicate dangerous ob8ects approaching this space ship. "ena and I
6uic#ly entered the ,aptain!s room to prepare for any attac#s that might occur. I could see via main screen that there were five
blac# ships moving toward us.
$ll units... prepare to attac# and "ena please identify the ship whether they are enemy or not. I 6uic#ly gave the command.
&ven though I has passed virtual battle many times but real situation was absolutely different. I didn!t have enough time to
have deep thought before ma#ing a decision.
,an!t activate to battle mode, captain. Some parts of this ship are still malfunctioning. $ second after one of my units said
these words suddenly our ship shoo#. 5he blac# ships definitely were our enemy. 5hey had started firing without waiting for
any discussion from us. 9rom that behavior, I could confirmed that the blac# ship were 'etaoreon !s armies. In this situation,
we could do nothing e%cept defend our ship as long as possible. So, I have commanded my units to install our best protection
layer around the space ship.
$t this time I 8ust hoped a miracle could occur. I tried to hac# onto the blac# ship!s system. .y applying my #nowledge in
!reverse engineering!. I analyzed the signal emitted from the blac# ships then did reversal techni6ues to decrypt the signal to
form readable data. I loo#ed into the deciphered data and found the *:(bits round #ey. I entered the #ey to my special
programme to listen to the ,ontrol ,hannel on the blac# ships. 5han#s to ;od. $bout < minutes later, the programme
recovered the password of the blac# ship!s main control system.
$fter getting the system password, I 6uic#ly sent fa#e instruction to the hac#ed system caused them to fight each other. $t the
same time our ally ,orrono $lliance arrived and help to destroy the blac# ships. 5hey also lent a hand to repair the damage on
our ship.
$mazing= I!ve never before seen someone who is able to control the enemy!s system in a short period and to get our ally!s
help easily li#e you did. "ena said, after we e%pressed our than# to ,orrono $lliance units.
I Stared into her eyes and replied. It was a great miracle but I thin# you should accept our ;eneral ,ommander!s decision. >e
would not have chosen me without loo#ing at my 6ualification.
$fter I said that, for the first time she flashed me her million(dollar smile. $fter that, we too# / days to complete the mission.
5he $ssociation hoped I would be successful in the mission even though I did not have any e%perience in battle. $nd it!s now
safe for me to say that their hope is well founded.
