Reflection 3

Me, Daniel, and Michael primarily worked on the preliminary stages of the assignment.
Me, Michael and Daniel worked on the storyboard for the outline of our assignment. The three of
us divided up the ten slides; me and Michael made five slides collaboratively and Michael made
five slides via toondoo. Then after everything was completed, we combined them afterwards
through email. David constructed an overall timeline (we contributed ideas as well) based off of
the storyboard. Within the outline there where ideas The next task we had to do was make the
actual video. Each of us searched and gathered short clips from our respective figured worlds to
be used to make the introduction for the documentary. After we incorporated our respective
video clips for the introductions, Me, Michael, and David made a script of what we wanted to be
in the video. The scripts included a description of how an aspect of how our figured world could
either possibly tie into the future. David did a great job of putting the video together and
providing the audio for the video (from the rest of our scripts).

Most of the feedback/comments our group received from our documentary where
positive, which confirmed to us that the video was up to par. However, we still need to make
minor adjustments and improvements so the video can have more of a documentary feel. For
instance one of the comments we received suggested to us that the audio needs to be slightly
louder; just above the music volume. Another comment that was suggested that should be
implemented in the video is to add subtitles throughout the video. I believe the introduction
needs the subtitles the most just to make sure that the audience is aware of what movie correlates
with each topic. I believe that another comment addressed the length of the Dark Souls portion of
the intro (or the Segway into it where David goes more in depth) and stated that the portion of
the Dark Souls video was a tad bit too long and could be shortened slightly. As a result of this we
will plan on shortening some of the footage to accommodate for a better video. These three
comments where the main comments that I thought would be helpful to making our documentary
better.

My weakness with this assignment would have to be with the actual making of the video.
I originally sent David a thirty second clip of some audio I had produced via the script I wrote
for my portion of the video. However, we all decided that we couldnt quite figure out how to
interpret the audio into the video so we scraped it. A strength I did have in this assignment was
the preliminary work/planning before David began to construct the video. I helped in conjuring
up the idea that we should utilize short footage of each of our figured worlds as sort of an
introduction to the documentary, so the audience could have an understanding of what our
figured worlds where. I also played a role in dividing up the work so everyone knew what they
had to do.
