One Word Questionnaire/Audience Feedback Graphs

This graph shows us what number of individuals from both genders, participated in
our questionnaire. While distributing our questionnaire, we wanted to obtain an
equal number of responses from both males and females as our main and ancillary
products are not targeted towards a particular gender as the indie/pop genre
occupies a large demographic of fans from both genders. Therefore, by not catering
our questionnaire towards one genre, we were able to extract detailed & accurate
feedback regarding how successful our products were in enticing and engaging the
audience.

Age
This bar chart represents the approximate age of those involved in completing our
questionnaire. As shown by the data, we decided to question individuals from a wide
variety of age ranges, from mid - late teens to young adults. We did this as we felt
that a large majority of our target audience would be situated within this age
demographic. However, we felt that we should concentrate slightly towards
members of the 14 - 21 age groups as we believe that this will be mean age of our
viewers, nevertheless our product may still be considered as enticing to anyone
between the age of 13 - 35+, hence we it was necessary to survey a broad selection
of ages.

This set of data represents whether our sample target audience felt that our music
video had successfully represented the conventions of the genre. This pie chart
shows positive results as 100% of our respondents felt that we were successful in
representing the convention of the indie/pop genre. Therefore, it could be
concluded that our music video was successful in the view of our target audience as
we meet the conventions of the genre.

This pie chart informs us on whether our audience believed that our product
reflected any form of moral message. Another undivided response shows that 100%
of our sample target audience believed our product did reflect some form of moral
message. This is important, as we as directors and producers did want to convey a
message which was against the use of drugs to our audience. We did this by showing
the potentially dangerous and incontrollable side-effects a drug can cause through
the narrative. This data reassures that we were successful in portraying our message
across to the viewer, without comprising the quality and rhythm of our product.

This graph questions whether participants of our questionnaire felt we represented
conventions of the genre well. The positive response we gained from this,
correspondingly with our main product suggests that we were generally successful in
epitomising the genre in both our main product and ancillaries.

This set of data represents the number of our sample target audience who felt that
the performance aspect of our music video improved the final product. Another
concordant response shows our viewers were enticed by the performance aspect of
the video, as 10 out of 10 candidates felt that it had had to our video. This was
expected however as performance scenes, alongside a narrative are conventional to
the genre. One contrast that we had made between the narrative and performance
was the colour schemes as the narrative was in colour and the performance was in
black and white. Some responses also motioned specific satisfaction towards certain
performance scenes within our music video.

This bar chart illustrates what TV music channels our audience believe our product
should be shown on. We received mixed feedback as 40% suggested our video
should be shown on 4Music, 50% for MTV and 10% for Viva. Ideally a solid and
successful music video would be shown on almost all stations to meet it demand and
popularity. However, at an early stage it would be wise to select a station that fits
our product best. 4Music tend to play current urban/r&b music, whereas Viva
concentrate on artists from the pop genre. Therefore, we felt that MTV would be the
best channel to host our music video as MTV accompanies music from a similar
genre to ours, as well as maintaining a good mix of current and past trends. Our
selection was also supported by our sample target audience, as MTV gained the
largest amount of votes.

This data demonstrates whether our target audience believe the music video should
be shown pre or post watershed. Another graph which shows mixed results,
although the target audience does seem to slightly favour post watershed viewing
with 60%, against pre watershed votes of 40%. We as a group decided that it would
be best for our product to be broadcasted post watershed due to the inclination of
drug taking and domestic violence. Although our video does convey a positive and
helpful message, the content may be considered as harmful to younger viewers as
they may not fully grasp the adult themes.

This graph questions the candidate as to what magazine they would expect to find
our magazine advert. We had given a range of possible answers however, only two
noticeable magazines were selected during the survey, NME and Q. Both magazine
cover a wide range of genres, including indie/pop, therefore both would be ideal,
however NME would be considered to have the biggest brand name and image,
therefore, we believe our magazine would be most successful in NME as its high
quality magazine attracts a large audience of fans from many genres. This would
ultimately publicise and promote our product to wider audience, without altering
the target audience demographic.

This graph informs us of what feedback we received regarding if whether we as
directors had put too much emphasis on particular elements of text. The data
recorded shows us that our sample target audience unanimously felt that we had
not put too much focus on particular elements of the text. We did this by using an
assortment of camera angles & shot, as well as appropriately selecting scenes which
would include SFX. This is a positive result as it shows that our products were seen
as well balanced by our audience, allowing for a smooth and enjoyable viewing
experience.

This is another positive response from our questionnaire regarding our use of VFX.
We had implemented VFX in amongst the narrative to aid us is creating a sense of
delusion and hallucination. We ensured that all VFX were at a good to excellent
standard to maintain the professionalism of our product. This feedback concludes
that our work on VFX was successful, as it was able to both entice and engage the

This pie chart questions the audience on whether the inclusions of the logo on the
ancillaries were suitable. The decision to include the logo on our ancillaries came
shortly after completing them as we felt that it help create a brand image between
all of our products. This seemed to work well with the target audience as all
respondents agreed in that logos were suitable.

This bar chart gives us an indication of whether our campaign would inspire our
audience to listen to the same or a similar genre. This is another graph that shows
another set of positive results as all participants of the questionnaire declared that
they would be inspired to listen to the same or a similar genre. This shows that we
were successful in both challenging and developing the genre in order to endorse
the indie/pop genre to both avid and new listeners.
