Prison Outreach
You may be well aware of the main areas of outreach for Derek Prince Ministries.
Among them are China, India, Eastern Europe, the former Soviet republics, the Caucasus
region, and the Middle East. Amazingly, the Lord continues to open doors all over the
world to the teaching legacy of Derek Prince.
However, you may not be so aware of another vital area of ministryour Prison
Outreach right here in the United States. Since 1994, we have been reaching out with
Derek Princes books and audio messages to meet the needs of our brothers and sisters
behind bars.

Years ago, as a regular practice, Derek and Ruth Prince would mention new developments
in the update messages they sent out. Here is a report from Ruth in Update #72, from May of
1994:
We are really in awe of all the open doors that we have before us now for
outreach. One thing thats happening in the U.S. which just came upon us . . . is
outreach to prisons. Derek Prince Ministries sends Bible teaching material and
tapes to prison chaplains in a number of places in the United States. The
response has been amazing. And sometimes a prisoner will be moved from one
prison to another and he goes to the chaplain and says, Please get on Derek
Princes mailing list so that we can have his material here.
And here is an additional point of emphasis Derek made in one of his teachings:
It is a remarkable fact, you know. Paul wrote several letters from prison.
Philippians was one, Ephesians was another. And in those letters youll find he
ends up by comforting the people to whom hes writing.
Fast forward now to DPM today. Almost daily, we
experience the very encouragement Derek mentioned as we read
the many testimonies from those in prison with whom we have
contact. For an exciting glimpse of the impact this outreach has
had in the lives of these men and women, read the excerpts from
their letters, included below!
Our Prison Outreach is thriving. Even though we have only
sought to raise funds for this outreach on just three occasions,
our ministry to prison chaplains and individual prisoners has
continued almost without interruption over the years. When a
prisoner first contacts DPM, we send out a bookeither the Self-
Study Bible Course or a book of his or her choosing. Along with
that book, we include a Prison Book List from which they may
make another selection. (Each individual may select one free
book per month through the Prison Outreach Program.)
All at no cost. This past fiscal year alone (October 2010 September 2011), the ministry
received and filled over 4,000 requests.

one of the best books that Ive ever read real talk! Im just about finished reading it, being
that its one of those books that you just have to take your time with because its just that

because I can be reading something and underline what I was reading and go down a few more
sentences or the next paragraph and be hit by another spiritual jewel like (WOW) and have to
underline that too!
