FEB UB Fast Track Program

Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Brawijaya (FEB UB) currently is conducting Fast Track special
program, an acceleration education program of S1 and S2. The program comes from two funding, first one,
superior scholarship from Directorate General of Higher Education (Dirjen Dikti) given to S1 students who almost
finish their study. Secondly, independent/non-scholarship S1.
The program is started by FEB on students who are on semester 8 (Class of 2008). Up to now, there are at least six
universities who attended Fast Track program, such as Universitas Indonesia (UI), Universitas Gadjah Mada
(UGM), Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh
November (ITS), and Universitas Brawijaya (UB).
Dara Puspitaningrum, one of the grantee of Fast Track Dikti scholarship explained the kinds and mechanism of the
study program. "The Fast Track program itself consists of two kinds, in which the third semester of S-2 study can
be taken in UB or abroad, which usually referred to as Double Degree. While for the mechanism, students of FEB
UB attend the classes on first and second semester of S-2 simultaneous with semester eight and nine of S-1
program. While the third and fourth semester of S-2 is continued in UB or foreign universities in cooperation with
FEB UB. Especially for scholarship grantee, after finishing S-2, the students may apply for scholarship for S-3,
especially in Germany, because currently Dikti is cooperating with Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst
German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)," he said.
Dara said that the requirement for Fast Track program is having experience as assistant lecturer, GPA above 3,5,
filling registration form and able to attend the program until it is done. Information regarding the program can be

The service that has to be performed by Fast Track scholarship grantee is performing intellectual social
responsibility by doing research and publishing journal or newspaper article. Every semester, students are required
to attend seminar in parallel through teleconference, Students must perform at least two seminar on the study
period, perform apprentice in SMA, SMK, or SMP for 4 hours every week, and Making personal blog reporting the
