BUSINESS WRITING

COURSE OUTLINE

Course Description
This course helps learners write some kinds of business writing in forms of letters and
emails in some business contexts. The course is to enable learners to get acquainted with
some conventions and expressions used in writing requests (information/action),
complaints, apologies or payment and be able to practice these functions and skills
through a number of situational exercises. n addition, they are also asked to know how to
write business correspondent in formal and informal styles.
Course Objectives
To instruct learners to understand the role of communicative writing, especially in
business settings
To ask learners to practice writing some right forms and styles of basic letter/email.
!earners are required to"
- use grammar structure, words, and transitional words or phrases.
- apply the layout of a business letter or an e#mail.
- master the writing process" planning a letter, making a draft $ writing and
checking it.
- understand the requirements and simulated situations given in forms of
exercises in core text and handouts so as to write a good letter suitable for
both content and style.
