Proposal Objective
The School of Engineering at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST)
is organizing an international summer programme for students from India, China, South
America and a few countries from Asian sub continent.
The interactive programme along with internationally acclaimed professors & global
engineering community in research, at Clear Water Bay Campus of HKUST aims to foster
international technology partnerships amongst participating countries.

Programme Advantage
The programme introduces students to technical research and helps foster global
understanding and trends in technology.
Plus an international exposure does help a student evaluate their options better.
Importantly such an international programme brings in a research perspective which
stands them in good stead as they delve into their career planning.

The Programme
The Summer Programme is scheduled between 14
th
July 2014 to 22
nd
July 2014. The first
week would be spent at HKUST campus at Clear Water Bay, Kowloon Hong Kong while
the subsequent two days would be oriented towards an industry visit, along with visit to
business school.
For the week long programme, students would be living on campus (twin sharing basis).
The tour would be led by HKUSTs India Partner Rank Global Services.
A maximum of 10 students basis their credentials would be selected from India for this programme.

Rank Global Services Company proposes this programme to add an international
perspective to the students outlook as they move towards the last phase of their
graduate programme. The company will be responsible for all the activities required for
the programme which include establishing contacts in Hong Kong, finalizing itinerary,
booking flight tickets, boarding, lodging, medical insurance and local hospitality etc.

Programme Cost
Rs.128,000/- all inclusive for 8 nights and 9 days.
Includes Economy Airfare, Airport Transfers, Stay on twin sharing basis on campus between 14

and 19

July and on twin sharing basis at a 3 star hotel subsequently, Local Conveyance as per
plan. Breakfast and Lunch, local sightseeing along with Disney Land, Peak Tram, Big Buddha,
Lantau Island and other local attractions. Not included Dinner, telephone expenses, packaged
water bottles and all expenses of personal nature

Who should attend?
1. Students with good academic record, and a minimum of 7 CGPA.
2. Students in 2

, 3
rd
or 4

year of their undergraduate programme.
3. Students who wish to bring in some international exposure to their study
environment.
4. Students desirous of taking up a research career.
Preference is given to students with research background/publications

Application Process Deadline : 15

Students desirous of participating in this programme should send the mentioned
documents and submit it to Dean Student Affairs before 15
th
May 2014.

2. Photocopies of mark-sheets, stamped by concerned authorities

5. A cheque of Rs.5000/- favouring Rank Global Services Company, payable at
Delhi.
The application forms will be submitted to The Hong Kong University of Science and
Technology, who will shortlist the selected students.

Payment Schedule
Deposit along with Application Rs.5000/-
Within 7 days of acceptance Rs.128,000/-
a) In case the student is not selected, the deposit amount would be returned.
b) If a student is selected and declines, this amount would be forfeited.
c) For the selected candidates, this amount would be treated as security amount
returned immediately on return back to India.

Schedule of HKUST programme would be finalized in a few days and would include
meetings with eminent professors, seminars, lab tours, campus tours and Interaction
with students from HKUST & other participating Universities and global community,
programme office and associate dean will also be a part of the programme.
