Good day!

The UP Manila University Student Council AY 2013-2014 is the highest student body
representative in the University of the Philippines-Manila. The Culture and Arts Committee of the
UPM USC aims to develop better representation within the USC and UPM administration, to
integrate cultural organizations projects, campaigns and services to the whole university, and to
provide creative, integrative and advocacy-related avenues for expression reflective of UP
Manilas character and taste, both within and outside the walls of the university.

As we welcome year 2014, UP Manila will embrace change by holding its first ever UP Manila
Fair 2014 themed as Ermita Kultura, a celebration of talents, culture and university life unique to
UP Manila through (1) multisectoral, direct student-organization participation (2) culminating events
of college-based competitions and (3) #AdvocacyBasedCulturalExpression through creative media
and performing arts.

Our five day event envisions an avenue for socialization and camaraderie among UPM colleges in
a fun, exciting manner. As part of this groundbreaking event, we are inviting your establishment
Bread Monster , to be one of the stall concessionaires for the rebuilding of the UPM School of
Health Sciences (UPM-SHS) in Palo, Leyte. The event will be on February 24-27, 2014 at the UP
Manila Grounds (College of Nursing and College of Allied Medical Professions Driveway) from
9AM-5PM and on February 28, 2014 from 6PM-11PM at the University Library Grounds,
concurrent with the culminating events of the UP Manila Fair 2014. Prices for the booths are
negotiable, depending on logistical requirements, electrical consumption and the flat rate given by
the University administration.

UP MANILA FAIR 2014: ERMITA KULTURA
EVENT PROPOSAL


I. ABOUT THE PROJECT

The UP Manila Fair is an ambitious one week event on February 3-7 OR February 17-21 with the theme: Ermita Kultura -
emphasizing the talents, culture and university life unique to UP Manila through (1) multisectoral, direct student-organization
participation, (2) culminating events of college based competitions (3) #AdvocacyBasedCulturalExpression. The event venues include
University Fair venues include CN-CAMP-SSWC Grounds and CAS College Grounds while the main event venues are Paz Mendoza
Parking Lot and University Library Grounds.

II. OBJECTIVES
To create an avenue for socialization and camaraderie among UPM colleges in a fun, exciting manner
To promote Advocacy-Based Cultural Expression
To showcase the distinctive culture of UP Manila and Ermita as the backdrop of UPMs distinct character


III. PROJECT DESIGN

Participants
The target population include UPM Student Body, UPM Faculty, Administration and Staff and the possibility of students/guests from
other universities. Project collaborators include UPM Administration, the University Student Council, College Student Councils, University-
wide and College-Based Organizations, Fraternities and Sororities and Interest Groups/Formations. The estimated student population
of UP Manila is 5,500+ not including administration, faculty and PGH employees.

Beneficiaries all event proceeds will go to:
Ugnayan ng Pahinungod Relief Efforts for Yolanda in coordination with ADRES of USC Health and Service Committee
This is the Service Component of the University Student Council that allows students to participate and assist in relief
efforts for Yolanda in the Visayas Region, recognizing the unique position of UP Manila students as future health
professionals of the People.

UP-SHS Palo Leyte Rebuilding
UP Manila has a Health Sciences Extension Campus in Palo. Leyte which was destroyed by Typhoon Yolanda as well
and is in dire need of assistance to rebuild their campus.
