I crochet... a lot. :). I love my
incredible Husband Angelo. I eat
drink breathe and sleep creativity.
I Love Lucy (really. I am an I Love
Lucy fanatic) I order a Christmasy
peppermint mocha whenever I get
coffee year-round. I love the early
1900's and Big Band and Swing
era. Wish I could have been there

I think what she means by sc is double crochet, so what you have to do is
skip 3 double crochet not sc as she called it.

First of all, I love this pattern. very cute, quick and easy. However, I found
it necessary to alter the pattern as follows:
round 3: instead of begining with ch 3, I began with ch 4, which counts as
dc, ch1, then follow pattern for this round.
round 4: ch 4, dc, ch 1 in each dc around. 48 st.
round 5: ch 3, 3 dc in same st, ch 1, then continue to follow pattern for
this round.
P.S. i don't do pompoms! lol. wish I had someone to do them for me! they
never seem to come out right so I just gave up years ago.

I agree with LadyMeshelle, I ran into the same problem. I did it and
unwound it about 10 times and gave up. It's super cute though!

I think I've found the 'confusion' - Round 4 has 96 st (dc & ch-1) but 48
ch-1 spaces.
So, for Round 5, you would skip 3 ch-1 spaces (not 3 st), 4 dc (shell) in
*fourth ch-1 space* = 12 shells.

I love your designs. Can I order an ecru Poet Slouch Hat? I don't know if
you sell them. The women at church have tried to teach me to knit &
crochet but I am hopeless! I stick to cross-stitch & needle point.
BTW...I found you on Escapegames24. I use your hints to finish some of
the games!
