A community is a social unit here people share some attri!utes o" their lives and
interact ith each other in some ays# $t is a %roup o" people sharin% common %eo%raphic
!oundaries and common values and interest# &ence, community is considered as the primary
client !ecause it has direct in"luence on health o" the people# Most service provision occurs in
the community# $t is also in the community here the need "or health care and protection occur#
'ommunity dia%nosis %enerally re"ers to the identi"ication and (uanti"ication o" health
pro!lems in a community as a hole in terms o" mortality and mor!idity rates and ratios,
identi"ication o" this correlates "or the purpose o" de"inin% those at ris) or those in need o" health
care# $t helps in "indin% the common pro!lems or diseases, hich are trou!lesome to the people
and are easily preventa!le in the community# &ence, it is a process !y hich the health
mana%ement committee mem!ers and health sta"" !e%in to learn a!out the community health
pro!lems, needs and concerns as ell as the determinants o" these pro!lems# $t involves
comprehensive assessment o" physical, social, cultural, economic, environmental and !iolo%ical
status o" community in order to identi"y pro!lems re%ardin% health and set priorities "or pro%ram
development#

The !asic rationale "or this study is to alleviate the community*s health pro!lems that can
!e done !y determinin% the current health status o" the community in order "or the people to
achieve the optimum health as directed !y World &ealth +r%ani,ation i#e# -niversal &ealth "or
'are# This aids the people in the community to practive their )noled%e and s)ills ith
discipline, accuracy and in lo%ical manner li)e on contri!utin% to the improvement o" the
condition o" their locality# The community, as the center o" this study provides them to do their
respective role in the "ield o" health care as a responsi!le citi,en#
By such survey, the health concerns o" the community are hi%hli%hted and hence some
help"ul plans or actions can !e made in order to provide necessary in"ormation to prevent the
occurrence o" health pro!lems, to plan "or possi!le solution to aid the e.istin% pro!lems and
maintain a %ood (uality o" li"e#
'ommunity dia%nosis not only help the local people !ut also help the students to %et the
e.posure to the real/li"e situations thus developin% their decision/ma)in% s)ill and learn ho to
deal on di""erent people and situations in a ri%ht and ethical manner# $n short, community
dia%nosis helps to raise the level o" health dissemination on the community# Also it helps the
researchers and the local people to ma.imi,e their potential and to render the services on
educatin% ho to prevent the disease, promote health and or%ani,e and participate on the

individuals, "amilies and communities#

Li)e the history o" some !aran%ays, 0uele could hardly trace !ac) its ori%in# Accordin%
to the "ol)s, they called the said !aran%ay 10uele2, a pan%asinan term "or mi.ture !ecause
durin% that time many people comin% "rom di""erent places li)e $locus, 'a%ayan, 3isayas, etc
mi%rated to this place and esta!lished their residence here so old "ol)s called this place 0uele#
